Myself and two friends stayed here for one night during our mini road trip around the Nelson area. The room was fine, nothing particularly special but had plenty of space (5 beds in total - 1 double & 4 single). On further inspection we discovered two empty beer bottles under the bed which had not been removed by the cleaners....

We had a spacious unit with good cooking facilities. The hotel is in a great situation only a short walk to the lake. Great place to stop on the way to West coast or Hanmer springs. Welcoming staff. Good range of food in dinning room.

This was our first visit to Alpine Lodge, an overnighter with overseas family in tow, and in most respects we were highly impressed. The complex itself is spacious, attractive and very well kept; the rooms (one Superior, one Studio) were clean, well appointed and comfortable although our mezzanine sleeping loft was uncomfortably hot until later at night when we could...

Thank you for your review. As a family owned and operated Hotel, we welcome the feedback and again can only apologise for our error which caused you disappointment and embarrassment. There is no excuse but in this instance a prior group booking had arrived and in between updating their check-in, there was a change in reception staff and completion of...

The Alpine Lodge is the only hotel or place to stay in St. Arnaud. It offers apartments, rooms and backpacker facilities. We stayed in an apartment which was comfortable and spacious with a large lounge, a small open plan kitchen and a decent bathroom. Not much of a view surrounded by mountains. There is a good laundry facility and it...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased that overall your experience was a good one but apologies that you found the bed rather hard and as a consequence, didn't sleep too well. Hopefully on a return visit we can rectify by offering some softer bed options. Best regards, Karen

We had a wonderful time at the lodge. The staff are all great and it makes a huge difference having a switched on manager who is on site to deal with any issues. We shifted into a lodge room as the backpackers was a bit noisy the weekend we stayed. The lodge rooms are lovely. The way the change was dealt...

The room was comfortable with a lovely view. Breakfast was fantastic. I had the continental and there was a great selection of things to choose from. The staff were friiendly and nothing was too much trouble. A great place to have morning or afternoon tea/coffee. A good selection of cakes to tempt you and I heard the ice cream was...

Stayed in the backpacker wing before and after hiking Mt Angelus. Everything was great - room, restaurant, bar, service, staff, location. The Lodge is pretty much the perfect hub in the exact right place, providing everything a traveller could want, all in one spot. You can go budget in the backpackers and get fish and chips across the road, then...

We have stayed here three times now and we love it. Friendly staff, nice rooms, good coffee and excellent food. They cater to trampers really well. Feels like a home away from home. TripAdvisor insists I say more but there is nothing else to say. It's a great place to stay.

We stayed before and after a hike in the Nelson Lakes - great family rooms, mezzanine level with ladder potentially challenging for younger children. Amazing views from rooms, really clean and well maintained. Lovely restaurant, great breakfasts and dinner. All staff really welcoming and helpful. Beautiful area of New Zealand, perfectly complemented by this low key lodge

This is my third or fourth stay over the last few years and they just make it better. It's now very much a four star experience. Little touches in the bathroom and staff who want to be there. If you can, get a room over the small wetland at the back where (at the right time of the year) you...
