My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in January 2014. The rooms were immaculate and very well designed. The staff are friendly, attentive and very helpful. We had a meal at the hotels restaurant and it was fantastic the flavours were amazing. If you are going to visit, I would recommend during the non high tourist season, then...

Stayed for a night and wish it had been for longer. The bed was SO comfortable - as someone who spends a lot of time travelling I've got quite fussy over the years but this was fantastic. We didn't have the opportunity to enjoy dinner but breakfast was delicious and the choices were great. Service also terrific. Particularly appreciated the...

This hotel is a must for anyone enjoying a coastline walk with a relaxed location, superb food on offer with great wine list. The rooms are all very comfortable and some with excellent sea views. The location is excellent with a small cove to explore and local pub close by a car is essential as very isolated location, good parking...

This hotel was a get away for my mum and I over the Easter bank holiday. It was amazing in every way! The service from the staff and especially the general manager -Richard- was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble. We were served delicious breakfasts, went out for long coastal walks and came back to complimentary biscuits and cake in...

Returned to the Lugger for the April Gourmet weekend. A fine location, very friendly staff and a relaxing location. Food was faultless excellent choices and the seven course taster menu with wine on the Saturday 1st Class. Breakfast again was faultless with numerous options. Stayed in the boathouse 101 great room with fine views and small balcony, just a shame...

This hotel is set in a stunning location , overlooking the tiny harbour in Portloe. The welcome was friendly and warm and the room was lovely. We had one with a terrace and patio doors. Nice touches included cocoa and marshmallows that arrived in the room as if by magic, along with a daily weather report. A thoughtful gift on...

This hotel is like finding an oasis of special quality and attention to detail, situated in a small cove with a just a couple of fishing boats winched onto the hard, it stands on the edge of the shoreline with rooms spread over a couple of buildings and an excellent restaurant.

We have visited this hotel many times but not for a few years as last time considered food not quite as good. As we love the hotel decided to try again. Not at all disappointed. The hotel and staff were just as welcoming as always and Richard the manager as charming as ever. The rooms are as well appointed with...

Portloe boasts one hotel and a single pub. A tiny village set in a crevice in the coastline. There is a rocky, steep sided cove and a small slipway for a couple of local fishing boats. An unexpectedly high spec small hotel, The Lugger is immaculately decorated, light and airy, with an army of welcoming staff attending to every requirement....

Called in for lunch after a mammoth cycle ride. At first I was disappointed it was only sandwiches. However they were the best smoked Salmon sandwiches I'd ever had. Views are magnificent. Friendly service. Well worth a visit. Such a picturesque area of Cornwall of the main stream.
