Fantastic family friendly country pub. Excellent roasts with largely local produce and tasty deserts. Very busy on the day we visited but service was great with very knowledgable staff, especially about gluten free options.

We stayed in a family room at the top of the hotel so we weren't aware of noise form the bar or the road. After walking all day over very boggy terrain we didn't arrive looking smart but were made most welcome and our room was ideal for us. A bath rather than a shower was most welcome. All would...

Visited this pub today after a day out. Was looking forward to the selection of ales from the associated brewery, and I wasn't disappointed at all. The beers are fabulous, if it wasn't for the kids I could have stayed in there all day!!! We arrived at 5 pm and was informed that food wasn't serves till 6 pm. No...

The good, the room was large, clean, and just what we needed. Even better, it was dog friendly. No issues with the room what so ever, lovely views over the hills too ( Room 1 ) The beer was top notch, great chice from Dent brewery, paddles available to sample in thirds, also great choice of ciders. Welcome pints and hot dinner after a long day's walk. Friendly welcome, cosy rooms, hearty meal and decent breakfast to see us on our way the next day. Food tasted great - 3 of us had the steak and ale pie. But the portions are maybe on the huge side and would be nice to have another veggie option. Our...

Having visited Dent on many occasions, The George has been a regular place to visit for food and beer. However on our most recent visit the food had gone down hill. Steak and ale pie, dry and unpalatable, and the roast belly pork, all fat, crisp on one side and barely cooked on the other, uneatable! The mashed potato, you...

We usually stay as a couple my wife and I. This time we stayed with our lurcher. It is always good when we stay here, and we have visited The George and Dragon several times over the years. Food was good, atmosphere was great, beer great and the cider was excellent. Gary the landlord gave a speech about cider and...
