We stayed at Ardencote for 2 nights in January as part of a large group celebrating a wedding nearby. At £155 per room per night, we were expecting a solid standard from this 4* hotel, and were disappointed from start to finish. Rooms are shabby, dated and not very clean, and the spa area is very much the same. I...

Good-sized and comfortable room and bed. Very good food. Well done cooks. Used spa - slightly disappointing to find no cups for water, no shampoo or decent shower gel available. Otherwise spa reasonably clean. Outdoor pool advertised but not available unfortunately.

I stayed at the Ardencote regularly from 2015/2016; it is a large but comfortable hotel with everything you want for an easy business stay. Ironing board/irons are in the room, free biscuits/water, comfortable beds, quiet rooms, and a lovely pool for a relaxing swim. Breakfasts were varied and plentiful; the evening meals got dull quickly (they seldom changed the menu...

I'll start this review by saying on the whole we had a lovely stay and was great for us to have some time alone. However; the hotel.... It's ok, just ok. I wouldn't say 4 star more a 3. Room was functional but not to what I'd say was a 4 star standard. Spa was again 'ok'. Have been in...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback with regards to your recent stay. All our rooms are classified as four star by the AA who inspect these rooms annually. They all have the facilities and features one would expect of a 4 star hotel and I am disappointed that you felt that this was not the case. The buffet lunch...

Spent a girlie weekend here with a group that visits spas on an annual basis. Sadly the elements of the weekend that were the deciding factor for this hotel were missing. We booked specifically for interlocking rooms so the group could spend time together and despite a phone call in the week to confirm on checking in we were told...

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your constructive comments. Room allocations are done based on the all our guests requirements and with only a limited number of interconnecting rooms these types of requests cannot always be accommodated. I appreciate your comments that the rooms were clean and tidy. The wet areas in our Leisure facilities all have anti slip tiles and...

We have just had a really didsapointing spa break for Valentines. I booked the hotel based on good reviews about the restaurant. The website states that the Lodge restaurant has 2 rosettes and for more informal dining they have the Brasserie. We checked in and had a nice day in the Spa. Lunch was superb and having a drink in...

I've been staying in UK hotels for about 20 years most weeks and this is one of the worst I have ever stayed in. There is no way it is a 4 star, maybe a 2 Food is overpriced Cooked badly Even the mushy peas was wrong twice Rooms smell of BO Lighting truly horrendous, like being interrogated I am...

Dear Andy, It was disappointing to read your comments particularly as you stayed for a week. I was just wondering why you did not mention any of these points during your stay and allowing us the opportunity of resolving these issues for you. Kind Regards Azhar Mian, General Manager

Stayed here on a spa break on a Sunday evening. Arrived early to enjoy the spa which is a little deceiving from the pictures; its quite small. Outside pool closed given time of year. When we finally booked in a little wait at reception as we were unnoticed for a couple of minutes...but entertained with one of the receptionists in...

This is a very pleasant hotel in a beautiful setting. I am told the spa is very good although I didn't try it myself. I did try the treasure hunt organised by the leisure staff, which was great fun. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food very good for mass catering. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your lovely comments after your company stay with us recently. We work very hard to ensure that all our guests have an enjoyable time and it is always reassuring to read when we get things right. Our beverage pricing is reviewed on a regular basis and is competitive within the local market place. Kind Regards...

Rooms were fantastic, staff were all very helpful and polite until a problem arose . I was humiliated by a really rude manager just because I wanted a larger gown for the spa and they didn't have any. He could have apologised, found out why there were only 2 xxl gowns in the whole hotel , told me he would...
