I booked kincraig because of the Scottish Hotel Restaurant of the year they had won for the North region. The food was fine but not outstanding. Some interesting options; home made haggis and curried monkfish that didn't really work. Many of the staff were new and inexperienced. Nice friendly people but clearly they were learning on the job. Our estate...

Found just off the main road and were only staying one night. Reception was friendly and we were shown to our room. Very nice room at the front and good facilities. Did not feel like a large dinner so opted for the snack in the bar. Menu choices were varied and we opted for the 'Tapas' choice which was a...

Best Hotel Stayed at this beautiful, historic hotel on the last leg of our North Coast 500 tour. Lovely peaceful surroundings, comfortable and spacious room with nice views towards the Black Isle and roaring log fires in the bar, lounge and restaurant. We had dinner in the newly refurbished restaurant which is very elegant. The food was fantastic with lots...

I stopped in for lunch for one and was absolutely delighted with my visit. Lovely roaring fire, decent background music which steered clear of the twee tartan variety, attentive and friendly service and the most delicious food I've had in ages - and at such a reasonable price for the set lunch menu - this is a must try! The...

Booked for a Sunday Lunch as part of a double birthday celebration. We were NOT disappointed. Beautiful food, tremendous waiting/bar staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. If there is a downside it has to be the mixer size soft drinks ie. Coke etc. A 330ml can/bottle or even a soft drink dispenser would be a very pleasing addition...

Was recommended to stay and eat in this hotel. First impressions of the hotel were good I had a friendly check in with the reception staff who then showed me my room. Down stairs in the lounge was beautiful very traditional decor with a lovely sitting area with a fire. Staff asked on a regular basis if I wanted a...

I popped in here just for lunch with my family after a morning up a very big hill for which the Highlands are famous. We arrived at 1.45pm aware that we were cutting it fine for our lunch order and that a chef may like to spit in our food. Fair enough. We needn't have worried. Our waitress was friendly...

I stayed here for 2 nights during a business trip. This is a lovely historic building which has bags of character. Staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly, especially Lyn, who told us a great deal about the history of the building and local area. I stayed in an executive double room which was a good size with plenty of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kincraig Castle Hotel is a stunning, family owned, award winning 4 AA star hotel situated in its own landscaped gardens with breath-taking views towards the Cromarty Firth and the Black Isle beyond. From your first sight of the Castle, as you drive up the long tree-lined drive, you know you are somewhere special. The grand white-harled building was the ancestral seat of the Clan Mackenzie and the history and elegance of the period is reflected in the displays of crow step gables, ornamental turrets and stone mullions.
