Without a doubt a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location and position on the banks of lake Ullswater. My partner booked us a joint birthday treat as he missed his own birthday due to his work commitments and it was mine whilst we were there. The whole place is immaculate the approach up the drive way is beautiful with the...

Our second visit to the Leeming, but this time for 3 days, and every aspect was brilliant. Great staff, particularly Sam on front desk (on loan from the Old England branch in Windermere). Service was spectacular and friendly, restaurant food is first class, but house wine by the glass is mega expensive. We enjoyed good but chilly weather, and we explored...

Polished and classic in all respects: service, fine dining, cocktails, breakfast, room and decor. Real lounges with longcase clocks for enjoying canapés or after dinner drinks. Enough well trained staff to second guess your needs perfectly. The grounds are idyllic, even the in room toiletries are of high quality. My family booked several rooms for a birthday celebration aged 11...

My wife discovered Leeming House by in the '80s, before we met, with friends and loved their afternoon high tea and it was love at first sip. We have since stayed there twice and our last visit was very enjoyable. It was very cold and we literally hibernated in our room--even ordering room service for dinner. The view was beautiful...

Stopped for the wonderful view from the garden . Say and had lovely afternoon coffee and homemade shortbread. We have stayed in the hotel before. Top quality everything ! The beautifully furnished communal rooms are cosy and welcoming and the restaurant serves a wealth of the top quality produce available in the area .

Stayed a Saturday night in March, lovely room with balcony overlooking grounds and lake. Enjoyed a good 3 course meal in restaurant and wholesome breakfast the following morning. Loved the peacefulness of the place, only sounds were the birds.

We booked this hotel while attending a Winter Walking Skills course in February. Our days were long and exhausting and when we returned home we just wanted some hearty warm food and an early night ready for the next day. However, only upon arrival did we discover that you are not able to order the bar menu after 6pm downstairs...

Booked weekend break and were encouraged when we arrived to book for dinner. Read info in room to find that we would not be welcome to dine here if we were wearing jeans! I assume we could dine in our mud splattered walking trousers but not our smart denims. Get over it Leeming House! No warning of this antiquated attitude...

We had a lovely relaxing drink in front of a roaring fire. Decor was grand and plenty of rooms to just sit in and while away the time very relaxing. The red wine we had was excellent and even though we weren't staying there we felt very welcome. Menu looked interesting but we didn't try on this occasion.

My mother and I have just returned from our annual visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. My mum is in a wheelchair and the staff were very helpful and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Our room overlooked the lake and when we woke up this morning it was snowing and looked like a winter wonderland, beautiful....
