I have read some of the reviews and wonder what people expect. This hotel has helpful friendly staff - the room was clean and comfortable - and the price was very competitive for the area. We tried a couple of local pubs for something to eat but gave up and returned to the hotel and the bar snack was good....

I stayed on the night of 31 October 2016. It is rather shabby with very tired furnishings and decor. My mattress was virtually flat with broken springs, the shower weak and the general appearance of the room a bit grubby. The bar clientele was rough and sweary. The menu was about six choices of microwaved food without vegetables or salad....

More of a motel than a hotel but we chose it for its strategic position, near the motorway. The staff members we met were friendly and helpful and firm about the no smoking policy, which was good. I was allowed into our room early, which was helpful. The TV was good. The hospitality tray was well stocked. The carpet was...

I used to be a regular in this hotel 30 years and it was great. So I was really excited about coming back on a one off. Well. I should have checked all the other reviews first. It wasn't good. Yes receptionist was good, but room was poor. The only thing to add from the others that in my room...

We are still here! Twin room with my daughter for a mini break so thankfully just one night. Booked with late rooms website - £59 bed and breakfast. Good rate so can't moan (much!) but room is not great and very basic. Ground floor - Dusty and needs a quick clean (even dust in the mugs), single bed is ok...

stayed here for 1 night. Wow, place is shocking. Probably the worst place i have ever stayed in and paid for. Hotel is really out of date big time. Receptionist is the best thing about the whole experience. On entry you can smell the damp and dusty out of date furnishings, it is like stepping back into the 70's. Checked...

We stayed here for 2 nights on Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th September. I picked this hotel for the price and location and I can safely say that this is a GOOD HOTEL. Yes; decor wise, it's a bit dated. But the decor doesn't have any effect on the more important things - cleanliness, comfort and price. For the price,...

This place should be paying us to stay there. £70 for a double room booked through booking.com was a joke. The ground floor room was stiflingly hot, we didn't feel safe enough to leave the window open as there was what looked like a builders yard outside. The carpet was covered in stains and marks, I couldn't hazard a guess...
