Suppose it was OK for two nights. Lady on the phone the night before check in was harsh and abrupt until I said I wasn't being spoken to like that. Clean enough and big enough for the two of us. Very basic. No lighting into the cottages or outside.

We booked a cottage room (for 3 of us) to stay during the York marathon. 5 days before i was phoned by a rather abrupt lady who asked how many people were coming. I explained it would now only be two of us and she said that was good because the room we booked was being redecorated so she would...

Arrived 4.30 on the Friday, accommodation adequate for us 3 adults, 1 of whom was elderly. We were left towels although it didn't state that in the booking. For what we expected at £80 per night it was good. We stayed in cottage 2 but our relatives stayed in cottage 1 which was dire. Stunk and smelt of damp. Great...

Pretty much the only good thing about this "B&B" was the location - very convenient to York and the East Coast even with no car. There was no breakfast of any sort provided, although other reviews indicate that there is a self-serve dining room, maybe for other units (there are 7)? This is not a cottage but one of several...

Had a two night stay here, on arrival like everyone else has put in their reviews the lady took remaining half of the payment as soon as our foot was in the door. We were then asked if we were wanting breakfast to which I said just the Sunday morning she said well you can pay cash for that on...

The location was excellent and the owner very helpful when I made the booking. The rooms were quaint and accessed by a spiral staircase...I don't think my mum needed the zimmer frame we carted up the staircase...but we had been made aware of this obstacle before we were allocated a room. Mattresses were lumpy. The owners were away the weekend...

I booked a two bed room for myself and a friend for a wedding, as my friend and I hadn't seen each other in 10 years, I thought that it would be better to have a room with two beds and pay the taxi fare to get to the wedding and back. A few days before we were due to...

What a dreadful place! Don't waste your money. There was mould around the shower, all over the bathroom wall, then travelling through to the kitchen. The toilet roll holder had a nail sticking out of the side of it just waiting for an accident to happen. The bedroom had damp patches on the walls and the storage was more or...

Myself and 2 colleagues stayed here for 2 nights and this is the worst place I've ever stayed in. There were 21 beds in the room mostly bunk beds that were covered in hair and plaster that had fallen from the ceiling. There were exposed wires and pipework everywhere. The ceiling was covered in thick cobwebs and it looked like...

The room was close to York. The host forgot towels, so we had to get them from them. The bed was not comfortable, but the couch was, so I slept there. There is a kitchenette, so that is handy if staying a few days. The price was too high for just sleeping and showering. I suppose having two rooms was...
