Firstly...we visited the area for a walk on Saturday. Asked at the inn if we could use car park as we wanted to walk and then eat in pub. They said hmmm not really so we parked on the road outside the Inn. Had a lovely walk and then went into pub (against my wishes but friends wanted to try...

We called in here part way through our cycle ride for lunch. There was a good menu including sandwiches and snacks but also a full menu including starters, main and desserts. I opted for the parsnip soup with smoked trout and apple, which was delicious. This came with a slice of brown bread. My husband had the ham, chips and...

Firstly lovely location, ( The only good thing) The Inn is very dated and needs a lot of TLC, Our room was in the Inn and was clean, The wood on the window was rotten and the window itself made an annoying rattling sound as the wind blew. There was evidence of damp in the bathroom, and when I informed...

When my wife and I arrived after a long journey in filthy weather, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and we both had roast beef rolls in gravy, which were delicious, as was the pint of local real ale...Because we had our dog we were given a room in the annexe, and this accommodation was highly unsatisfactory for various...

Exactly the peaceful stay we were hoping for in a cosy traditional inn. Hawnby is a tiny place, no other pubs and shops, but makes a great base for walks and drives around the moors and to the coast. Food was excellent, we had a fantastic evening meal and two breakfasts, all generous portions. To dispel a myth about the...

Last minute booking after change in our plans. Excellent deal for dinner, bed, breakfast, and a glass of prosecco. The value is 5/5. The Inn is rural in a quiet location. This means there are no shops, there is mud, and in January probably wet mud! I have no issue with this. Frankly if you aren't expecting to wear wellies...

Stayed over the new year period and thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfasts were the best I've ever had, and the evening meals were superb. Dave the owner and all the other staff were really friendly. Set in a beautiful little village with great walks all around. Will definitely be returning.

We've been having short breaks here for over twenty years. Hawnby is a tiny, peaceful village in the North York Moors and the Inn has provided short breaks for people for many, many years. It's comfortable and the food is excellent. Lots of lovely - hilly - walks or trail runs in the area.

My wife organised a weekend break at The Inn, Hawnby, as a surprise for me. It is a quaint place with a lot of history. Room was spacious and clean with an ensuite. Dinner was good and well presented as was breakfast. All the staff from reception, waitress and chef were very friendly and welcoming. Would we return? Yes
