I read some of the reviews on here, so I was a little worried about what I was in for. My concerns were totally unfounded. From the moment I arrived I felt very welcome. All the guests were very chatty too. It made for a great atmosphere. The room was spot on and very comfortable. And the food was excellent....

Booked last minute and we were accommodated although they were very busy. Food and service excellent, could not fault and will visit again. Very friendly and attentive staff, would recommend the steak and ale pie and the slow cooked pork belly.

We visited as a walking group for a two night weekend. Lucy and her team made us very welcome. Our rooms were comfortable and cosy. For dinner we had the use of a private room that was lovely with candles on the table and decorations on the table cloth. Food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast. Service was very...

We stopped at the Illchester Arms en route from Dartmoor to Swindon . The quirky multi-roomed ground floor revealed a well stocked bar, a very friendly, welcoming, young staff and an interesting menu. Our one course snack of paté for my wife and roast pork baguette for me was absolutely delicious and beautifully served. An establishment worth taking a detour...

Delightful staff, front and back. The chefs cook up some lovely pub food, that couldn't be faulted. My black spot sausages and mashed spuds, and reduced sauce, were superb. Eton mess for afters not that tardy either. Worth dropping in, especially if you are visiting the fleet air arm museum up the road. Beer great as well as the choices.

Once again, I have had a lovely few nights at the Ilchester Arms. Staff are excellent Rooms are very comfortable and homely. The food is always spot on, with good size portions at a reasonable price. The full breakfast is cooked to perfection. I visit Ilchester twice a year and the Ilchester Arms is always my first choice to stay.

We stopped here for coffee on our travels and were greeted by friendly staff. The coffee here was excellent and there a few hotels who could learn how to do it from them. This is local village Pub with rooms and is a good place to hang out and just be. Great for coffee

Popped in on our way from visiting my mum in hospital, very hungry and emotionally drained. The waitress asked if we had booked to which we replied no. She found us a table . We looked at the menu, I plumped for for the belly pork and my hubby the ham egg n chips. We were not disappointed, the food...

Stopped at this hotel on the way to Cornwall to have lunch and also on the way back home. I had a Brie and bacon, cranberry panini with salad as did another three of my companions. And one other had the gluten free sandwich absolutely excellent so tasty so good literally ate everything on our plates
