Had excellent lunch, promptly made with care and expertise. Decor prepared for Christmas thoughtfully - just a bit wacky. Many tables, armchairs and log fire. Landlord very relaxed and welcoming. New kitchen staff who seem very competent. Good place to eat on a cold day in winter.

Enjoyed a one night stay in the Ilchester arms, the room was nice and homely. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the young man behind the bar called Joseph. The food was delicious, I particularly enjoyed my ham, egg and chips for lunch

Just returned from a night out with my girlfriends! Went for a meal here and it was wonderful service and delicious food! We were rather noisy and apologised but was told that "it was fine and you were just having a good time!" Everyone's meal looked and tasted so,so good!! A party of 8! I have also been here for... Although the staff seem very pleasant. The rooms are dated and lack imagination..the beds are horrendous as is the uneven floor. The whole place needs a good clean. Halloween has been and gone. Get rid off the cob webs. While having coffee after breakfast. I noticed a dog in the kitchen... come on basic hygiene

We booked this for two nights at short notice and I must say that really very happy with choice. Staff were more than friendly Breakfast was all you could ask for , we did have an early Sunday lunch and no complaints again plus choice was good. Prices at the bar were very reasonable although the shorts measures were not... More

We were visiting family so did not have dinner. The room was clean and cosy clean towels everyday so well done to your housekeeping. There is a car park at the rear of... More

The service was excellent. The girls in the bar and restaurant were helpful and quick. The food was not what I would have expected for the price. The fishcake starters were good but literally 2 fishcakes and bit of sauce no garnish. The pastry steak and ale pie would have been criticised by Paul Hollywood as being over worked so... More

Very friendly and helpful staff, the only fault with this hotel is the rooms need upgrading ,their menu was more than adequate definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a friendly atmosphere you can't go wrong .The shower was quite small and the bedroom was on the small size, but the friendly, helpful and attentive staff were fantastic

I read some of the reviews on here, so I was a little worried about what I was in for. My concerns were totally unfounded. From the moment I arrived I felt very welcome. All the guests were very chatty too. It made for a great atmosphere. The room was spot on and very comfortable. And the food was excellent.... More
