Lovely warm friendly pub with great food. Reasonably priced, great staff. Children's menu really good - half portions of adult meals which is how it should be. dogs made to feel welcome. Would definitely come back.

Had a pleasant short walk around the village before trying the Bell for lunch. Three of us had the home made burger .. it was huge I always have to deconstruct these towers as it is the only sensible way to eat it. Not disappointed at all made from Rib eye steak. The Hunters chicken was also tasty. I'm not... More

The Bell Hotel is a typically British black and white pub with resteraunt and some accommodation above with most accommodation behind in the converted stables buildings, which are arranged motel-style around 2 sides of a small car park with open wooden walkways for access. Further public parking is available in front of the hotel, although we always managed to get... More

Just came in for a couple of pints. Got a great spot by the fire. Beer was good and everyone was very friendly. Beautiful old country pub. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Dogs were made welcome.

We were visiting family in Clare and spent two nights at The Bell. I cannot say enough lovely things about it. Our room was comfortable though not particularly fancy. The dining was lovely and the owners recommendations were spot on. It was a sweet touch that he took us up to the banquet room where over 20 years ago we... More

We went here for dinner last Friday evening and were very impresses by the wonderful Veggie burger, portabello mushroom with Halloumi, onion rings and even a fried egg. So great (and rare) to have a really excellent vegetarian alternative. The Hunter's chicken was pretty good too. The staff were all so helpful and friendly and we loved the slightly old... More

Looks a lovely old hotel, but accommodation was in a 1960s 2 storey motel type block in the back yard. Walking right past other peoples room windows we entered a reasonably large room and discovered:- Creaking floorboards throughout with what must be almost a hole in the floor. Out of two locks on the door only one worked and no... More

..then this is the place for you. Very short overnight Saturday break in a neck of the woods we always gravitate back to. Certainly the Bell looks a genuine building dating from the 8th Henry of kingly fame..However, the room was not, sadly, in the main building but in a Hi-de-hi-esq terrace of rooms (ground and first floor) to the... The hotel really does have a great location for walking in forest. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it. The breakfast buffet on Sunday was equally as good.
