This is a lovely little pub and we received a really warm welcome. The guys behind the bar are brilliant and the full English breakfast was fabulous. We were lucky enough to get lovely weather, so we enjoyed sitting out in the sun in the little outside garden area. We had one of the superior rooms above the pub itself,...

Small room upstairs adjacent to pub so not troubled by noise. Very clean but limited surfaces to put anything. Door lock problematic. Food was excellent both dinner & breakfast. Lovely to have a bath but it had a rough 'sandy' non slip surface.

If you are looking for somewhere good to stay for access to Oxford and surrounding areas. This is the place to be. We have just returned from here having stayed for two nights whilst visiting Oxford. What a great place to stay. We were travelling with our two small dogs. Room 4 is kept to accommodate dogs, and it is...

We chose The White Horse, Duns Tew, due its location and ground floor accessibility. This was essential for my 85 years young Auntie, recently bereaved, and a blue badge holder. I had planned a mini tour of the Cotswolds as a treat for her. We booked almost 4 weeks prior to our stay and gave ample notice for ground floor...

I'm starting to fall in love with these old Inns. This one was excellent. It's located in a small town and although it has all it's charm off a 500 year old building, everything is neat and in 1 piece. The staff was friendly, the bar is a nice place to sit and the food was really good. I had...

The pub / restaurant is stunning, old panelled walls , flagstones and open fires with a lovely comfy atmosphere and the food was amazing 10/10. The bedrooms however are in a separate building out back which had been converted into little(and I mean LITTLE) chalet type rooms . The bathroom needed decorating badly and tbh for a £100 a night...

I hesitate to say this because then more people will know! Stayed here a few times now and I like the atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable even if the downstairs rooms have to have the curtains pulled for any kind of privacy as the French doors open out onto the carpark! Good food and good beer and decent Wifi. Even...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The White Horse is a quintessential 17th century English coaching inn set on the eastern side of the Cotswolds in the charming village of Duns Tew. With original flagstone floors, beams and real fires. The White Horse has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere making it the perfect place to enjoy a drink or meal with friends. Our south facing terrace is perfect on warm days. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome. The White Horse has greeted travellers for the last three hundred years. Little is known of the early history of this late 17th century hostelry, but there was certainly an Inn here. Inn keepers are recorded here up to the present day, with its own brew-house run by a Maltster, in the early 17th century. The brew-house is now the site of the gents' loo.Towards the end of 1981 The White Horse was remodelled with the addition of a dining room, but it was still a true Inn as there was stabling and fodder for a traveller's horse as well as Bed and Breakfast for the rider. In the last decade of the 17th century the White Horse was again developed to the arrangement seen now, with a new Kitchen, Dining Room and Bar, in a traditional style, and extended bedroom accommodation. ... more   less
