We booked this hotel because my husband loved the programme heartbeat. After reading all the reviews of the hotel was stressing that we were not going to enjoy our stay. We decided to put all the reviews out of our head and base it on our experience. We had a thoroughly lovely time. Yes the hotel is tired in places...

My husband, a very well behaved 12 y granddaughter and myself visited for a quick drink after a long enjoyable walk in beckhole. We were told on entering that children could only be in the dismal so called family room. Ok if that's the rule in North Yorkshire in we went. On going to order drinks i found the bar...

After an enjoyable time looking round "Adensfield" went to the pub for a drink to find it staffed by foreign girls trying to make themselves understood which completely destroyed the experience. To add insult to injury we arrived at ten minutes past two to find the restaurant closed and only scones and crisps available!! The only plus was a decent...

Excellent home cooking in Aidensfield pub. Good portions and reasonable prices. Highly recommend the ham, egg and chips. After the meal stroll round Scripps garage and the local shops. Good half days visit. Highly recommended.

Proper country pub great ales. No English speaking staff so found it hard to communicate bit disappointed as in the middle of Yorkshire food menu is like going back 30 years. Not very good. Choice. Won't go back.

If you are into "Heartbeat" then a pint at this pub is a must. Bar staff were pleasant and attentive, beer was good, lots of atmosphere and a photo opportunity for the Heartbeat buffs. Cosy in the colder days with a nice coal fire.

Had a coffee in this pub then we decided to have a meal there. .went to the bar to look for a menu....was abruptly told by a barmaid ...move from the side of the bar. .the manner and facial expressions said it all....I informed her to forget the menu and proceeded to leave....I observed two males at the side of...

We were interested in seeing the countryside where Heartbeat was filmed. The hotel was great so full of atmosphere: small and cosy with lots of memorabilia. We just had a coffee to soak up the atmosphere. I loved the fact that they still have the sign for the Aidenfield Arms on the side of the building. The village is a...

I had an absolutely dreadful experience here. There Staff we inattentive, rude and messed up my order. The food was very low standard, but worst of all was the manger who was doubly and rude and unwelcoming as all the other Staff. what a great shame, as the Pub has such a great history.

Firstly if there was a category between Average and Very Good I would have used that - We were on a tour and wanted three days in the area decided to stay outside Whitby and when I remembered and found this Hotel I booked it because of the TV history (Aidensfield Arms !) in fact subsequently didn't realise how much...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our traditional local pub and hotel. We have become world famous by sheer accident but for the very reasons Yorkshire Television chose us we like to think that the very best of an English village pub has been delivered to an international audience. Our belief is that many come because of the fictional Aidensfield but return for the spirit that is Goathland. Essentially we offer the convenience of a small hotel but with a big personality. The hotel has eight en-suite bedrooms; they all have individual characteristics and views of our wonderful moors and timeless village. Our rooms reflect the traditional building and retain all the charm and character of yesteryear. The rooms are all fully equipped with 32" LCD Televisions with Freeview, Tea, Coffee and Hot Chocolate making facilities and of course all fresh white linens. ... more   less
