The Zuri White Sands Goa Resort & Casino is celebrated for its prime beachside location, offering guests a tranquil getaway. While the resort's cleanliness and vast array of amenities, including a spa, pool, and multiple dining options, are highlights for many visitors, some guests feel the value is diminished by costly extras and a casino entry fee.
Although the service is generally applauded for its friendliness and attentiveness, there have been occasional reports of slow service. The accommodation, often characterized as spacious, does however draw criticism for appearing outdated.

We stayed there for 5 nights after completing the golden triangle, starting with the positives the hotel facilities including the swimming pool and gardens were kept very clean. We also enjoyed the included breakfast there which had quite a good selection.
The staff by the pool were excellent and the price of drinks was reasonable, we also had lunch there a couple of times, again the food was great.
We did not eat at the restaurants there so cannot comment, we visited when it was low season so there were not many guests and we just prepared to eat outside the hotel.
Do be aware, there is not really much around and because the hotel was quite quiet we did not notice any activities to keep you occupied throughout the day.
For the price we paid I don’t think you could expect much more from that we got.
What I will say is this hotel is certainly not a 5 star establishment, really it comes down to their approach to service, we found the reception staff to be quite frustrating.
One one occasion we rang reception at 3.00pm as our room had not been cleaned since checkin, we rang once, they said they would send someone, we rang twice they said they would send someone, we rang a third time and finally 90 minutes later housekeeping was there, the hotel was empty, so either they were understaffed, incompetent or the receptionists were just trying to wind us up, no opportunity just sloppy service.
The biggest annoyance was the check out procedure, the night before we already paid the bill, they said they then needed to do a ‘room check’ a bit like you are a 10 year old child and they need to make sure you were not naughty. I told them about what was consumed from the mini bar, but still they had to check. 30 minutes this whole procedure took. We just dealt with this because we were up at 04.45am the next morning and really did not need any more inconvenience.
As we checked out in the morning they wanted to do another room check! I explained that we already had one, and the bill was settled, I showed them the invoice and assured them nothing was consumed, they still insisted on their room check despite my taxi waiting.
Guys you are a ‘5’ star hotel, if a customer tells you they have not had a bag of crisps from your minibar, just believe them! You did a room check the night before literally 8 hours before! I have never experience this EVER in a hotel.
We also had instances of just waiting for staff, they were quite blunt at times, again at reception. We asked to play pool, we knew it was chargeable there was a sign on the table - we go to reception and ask the lady, she says yes, it’s chargeable though. Just the way things are phrased makes you feel like you are an inconvenience, how about saying ‘no problem sir, we would be happy to sort that out for you, can I just let you know this is chargeable, is that ok?
There were other examples but the check out procedure and the time it took them to deal with issues was definitely the biggest issues, this is why it is not a 5 star hotel.
Despite those annoyances it was good value, the facilities were clean, food was good, just don’t go thinking you have got an amazing deal on a 5 star hotel, it is more 4 star mixed with quite a poor reception team. The rest of the staff were excellent.

The Zuri is located on a beautiful stretch of squeaky white sandy beaches. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast has a great selection of Indian and western choices. We ate at fins and got a fresh snapper which was cooked to perfection by chef Joaqiem. While a little bit more pricey, it was worth it as well as the pani puri. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping do a great job at keeping everything tidy, well stocked with toiletries and drinking water. The lagoon style pool surrounded by lush gardens is pefect for chill resort vibes. There are plenty of sun lounges however on the busier days these can fill up quickly. Alternatively there is another quieter pool very close to the main pool with extra sun lounges. The casino is a bit of fun but is small and there is a cover charge (captured in photos), however the cover charge does include 4 alcoholic drinks, unlimited soft drinks, juice, tea and coffee and a small buffet with snacks and a small selection of indian meals and deserts. The only downfall of this resort is there is often the smell of sewerage near the main lagoon pool. I am unsure if this is actual sewerage or the fertiliser used on the gardens but it can be really off putting and considering the cost of this hotel, I would hope they can investigate and resolve this issue. Hot tip - these are some great small restaurants/beach shacks and bottle shops outside the resort, check these out if you want to save some significant money.

We recently celebrated our Parents 50th Wedding Anniversary here and we couldn't have chosen a better resort. Neol with his evergreen smile, Prapti with prompt responsiveness and Narayan with the always helpful nature made the checkin, stay and experience really amazing. They made my parents special day more special with room decor surprise and even offered complimentary cake. This was like a cherry on top of already a very good cake!!
The rooms were very comfortable, food was tasty, ambience serene and ever attentive service by all the staff - restaurant, ground & housekeeping as well as the travel desk. Sonia helped us with a smooth checkout process.
The fact that the expansive space is kept always clean and a easy access to a clean and non crowded beach only add up to the wonderful experience.
Our first stay at Zuri but surely not the last. This is more than a 5* experience!!!

Where to start? Firstly the ‘sands’ aren’t white - fair enough, a bit of marketing hype maybe? You should be aware that this hotel makes the vast majority of its money from wedding parties which can dominate the hotel facilities and restaurant at times. Food choice in the restaurant is good at both dinner and breakfast but be aware of ‘little darling’ children seemingly off the parental leash screaming and dashing around everywhere. Rooms are VERY dated and tatty in places with furniture falling apart / showing their age. Irons and ironing boards have to ordered from housekeeping which is a faff in a supposedly 5* hotel (I’m actually chuckling to myself that anything approaching 5* can be attributed to this hotel). Our bathroom was filthy in places with rotten dirty bottom of door frames, built up dirt / mould in corners and around the shower screens and signs of dirt on the toilet flush buttons as well as what looked like coffee splashes on the mirror surround. A slightly sewagy smell often followed flushing of the toilet). I had ‘Delhi belly’ for a day and whilst this could have been caused by a number of things, I think the bathroom the most likely source. The trendy Tangerine bar off reception was quite nice apart from the stupidly loud music making conversation difficult. They did turn it down (slightly) when asked. Once again the logarithmic complexity of Indian taxes makes drinks considerably more expensive than they first appear. The redeeming feature is the staff who are very friendly and will try their very best to accommodate your requests which is the only feature of the hotel which even approaches 5*. Top tip - go explore bars and restaurants outside the hotel, especially Leo’s Roar, which are incredibly cheap with really good quality food. And before you ask…..no, I had my tummy troubles before eating externally.

We stayed for 3 nights in July 2024. The location of the hotel is good next to the beach but we were deeply disappointed with the reception staff. They have stupid rule of check in only after 3pm and checkout at 11am (they charge u extra if u dont vacate by 11:30am). We reached the resort at 2:30pm and were not given a room till 3:30pm despite requesting. After intervention by the manager we were allowed a late check out till 1pm given the check in hassles.
The rooms are old and the AC also doesnt work well. We got room 254 and were asked to keep the AC on at below 24 degrees otherwise the room floor used to get wet and slippery. There was an accident in from of our room where the false ceiling collapsed due to water leakages which was very scary from safety perspective.
Food quality is good but breakfast and meals spread was low especially in certain categories. They offer complimentary high tea but arrogant front desk team did not inform us and we came to know about this on the last day.
Another big issue is their taxi union and the hotel does not allow any outside vehicle in the gate for pickup just to fleece their guests for more money. We had to walk 100-150 metres from the hotel gate to grab our taxi. The hotel clearly prefers their taxi union and doesnt care about their guests.
The casino is also very small and super expensive. Overall many better options in south goa than this one. Will surely avoid next time.

“Our stay at Zuri was below average, and we expected much better given the price we paid (₹20,000 per night). Here’s a detailed breakdown of our experience: 1. Mini Bar Mismanagement: The staff didn’t properly check the mini-bar before our checkout. We received a call accusing us of consuming a chocolate bar, which was quite disappointing. For such a premium rate, this lack of professionalism and attention to detail is unacceptable. Staff training is a must. 2. Check-out Hassles: The check-out process was frustrating. They started calling us 24 hours prior, and we received 6-7 calls asking about checkout timing. With a one-year-old baby, this constant disturbance was very inconvenient. A resort of this caliber should handle checkout processes more efficiently and respectfully. 3. Breakfast Quality: The breakfast was below average. The sambhar was particularly disappointing—it tasted terrible and felt like no effort was made in its preparation. 4. Service Discrimination: The staff near the swimming pool seemed to prioritize foreign guests over Indian guests, which was disheartening. Being treated like this in our own country is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the resort. Equal treatment for all guests should be a priority. 5. Valet Parking: The valet parking service was subpar and needs significant improvement. 6. Property Condition: The property feels old and outdated, which doesn’t match the premium pricing. 7. Location: The only positive aspect of the resort is its beachfront location, which is undeniably beautiful. 8. Finn’s Bar: The service at Finn’s Bar was good and stood out compared to the rest of the resort.
Overall, this resort is far from family-friendly. With better options available at this price point, I would recommend staying elsewhere. There’s a lot of room for improvement in service, facilities, and overall experience.”

Nice hotel, all staff pleasant and helpful. Both pools are great, the guys at the swim up bar deserve a mention for creating the best cocktails and Prakash was a star keeping the pool area clean and helping me to move my sun bed into the sun! The grounds are immaculate, it’s a lovely walk down to the beach. Fins bar is ideal for a drink watching the sun go down, all drink prices are reasonable. Massage treatments at the spa are exceptional, total bliss. Room is a great size though like many of the inside areas is a little tired and could do with a bit more character. Restaurants good though not as much choice as would expect for a hotel of this size. I was surprised not to see more variety of traditional Goan dishes. The Waterfall restaurant is very noisy, didn’t make for a great ambience for the evening meal, though I did enjoy the evening they served outside and had local dancers. Noise was also a concern when in room at night. Walls are like paper so I could hear everything for room next door and the part covered walkways means noise travels, I was woken early a couple of mornings from the noise of young children running up and down. Overall a good stay, 4 nights was enough and helped me get my mojo back, thank you.

First impressions was wow, as you walk into the lobby. We were greeted by a singing man, he was great! We were offered a welcome drink as we checked in.
So far so good I thought as we were being ushered to our rooms then I started to notice the decor was in dire need of been replace. The paint was flaking and mold on the ceilings.
We got to our room and I have to admit it was a good size room no complaints there. The bathroom was also a fair size too. The room smelt damp and the decor in certain places was broken, the doors to the balcony were in dire need of paint.
The hotel grounds and gardens were kept clean, the pool is a good size but can do with cleaning. I was totally amazed by the fact that their are NO umbrellas with the sunbeds! Its the first hotel that I've been to with no umbrellas.
The restaurant by the pool, the food service is very slow. We had to ask multiple times how long the food will be, we'd only ordered 4 portions of fries. I don't think the restaurant would be able to cope during peak holiday times.
The main restaurant was good, there was a good choice of food catering for veg and non-veg guests.
Beach was really good but no sunbeds or umbrellas. Definitely not private beach as it states. The beach shacks there have some of the best food I've tasted!
Overall definitely not a five star hotel, I would say a 3 star. It most definitely has the potential of a 5 star hotel with a lot of TLC.
All the staff that I spoke to were great and went out of their way to help you.

Another successful vacation very well organised by Jainam Tours and Travels. Thanks to Aakash Panchal for awesome property. One of the best Property in South Goa. Very supportive and responsive staff and taking care of each request very carefully to make our stay more comfortable. Starting from onboarding on reception, Mr. Juberto and Mr. Neol completed smooth onboarding and explained each details very clearly. Miss Ananya had taken extra care of us by providing support for our 9 month old baby. Chef Mr. Christopher has taken care of our all the food related needs and completed even in midnight as well. Outstanding and very delicious food for all of us and taken extra care of my 9 month old baby with at-most hygiene. Thanks for housekeeping staff Mr. Anurag for smiling and prompt support as and when we need. Amazing. Awesome and Outstanding stay at Zuri White Sand Goa Resort and Casino. April could be rather hot for someone from the UK. I wouldn't advise unless one is specifically seeking hot and humid weather. Nov to Feb is ideal.
Can't answer about snorkeling and marine life - sorry!
You can charge everything, all drinks and food to your room and pay at the end by card. I don't think the restaurants are independently owned, but I can't say for sure. I think one of their restaurants is across the street, but it's not their main restaurant.

We stayed at Zuri White Sands October 2022. The drink prices were very reasonable but I don't remember exact amounts. We got to Goa after The Golden Triangle where drink prices were very expensive so Zuri was great.
