I questioned our travel agent when she suggested that we stay in Carona, rather than in Lugano, but she said to trust her, and she was definitely right. The village is gorgeous, and the Hotel is quant and charming, with wonderful gardens, and an amazing restaurant next door. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, breakfast was perfect, and the... A boutique of a hotel in the hills of Lugano. An old villa with the interior design of the oldendays. Gorgeous and quant hotel. Very friendly family owned and led hotel. The breaksfast buffet is wonderful, not too over the top but not too small either. Very comfy. Unfortunately due to the age of the house etc the walls are... More

As a returning customer, we already knew what to expect. And we weren't disappointed. A warm and friendly welcome, rather old (as to be expected in a historic hotel) but nevertheless nice and spacious rooms and very good food in the adjoining La Sosta restaurant. The breakfast buffet is always fresh with a variety of local stuff. It's not easy... More

Pretty bad experience with this hotel. Stay as part of a wedding group and got charged an extra day because the bride booked me in for 3 days instead of 2, and the owner refused to just charge me for the day I stayed. This is all the more annoying given how poor the hotel was, it was 30 minutes... More

Dear „Peter L“, Thank you very much for the review. The room you stayed at was our „angel juniorsuite“, room number 21. The furniture is original from the 18th century and it also features ceiling fresco, qualities that are typical for a Swiss Historic Hotel. The juniorsuite mentioned measures 43 qm. Technical devices are given, such as DAB-Radio, phone and... More

Tucked away at the top of this beautiful mountain is the beautiful village of Carona and what better place to stay than the Villa carona. Very friendly staff who will go out of their way to please. We ate in the restaurant and the risotto is by far the best ive had! The mozzarella is also to die for! Clean... More

A historical hotel in a small typical Ticino village (very narrow roads). The rooms have nice interior, the building iteself is rather old but well maintained. Noise from outside depending there your room lies. Inside noise depending on the other guests, you here sometimes people walking over the floor. Some rooms have spectacular view down to the lake and the... More

During our five dasys stay at this hotel, we got really enthusiastic about it. The historic building in the middle of the small town of Carona has been carefully renovated and offers a lot of confort at an affordable price. The beautiful garden is ideally suited for relaxing from either a hiking trip or a busy visite of nearby Lugano.... More

A wonderful find in little Carona. We were just exploring the area above Lugano and were looking for a place to stay for one night. Serendipity brought us together. We just happened to drive by and there just happened to be 2 rooms available. This hotel is a meandering drive up the hill to the south of Lugano. I am... More

Stayed here one night on our way to Milan. Not easy to get to because the road is uphill, narrow and quite a long way. However from the minute we arrived at the hotel we entered a different world. Peaceful, quiet, nice ambience and such nice and warm staff. We got a room at the top floor. Great bed and... More
