So happy to call in to the Swanny Pub for lunch with a mate and see that Homer was back in the kitchen. He is a top notch chef and offers a great variety of well priced tasty food. I believe that the day we visited was his first day back after a period away from the venue.
I had the creamy seafood linguine, and it was spot on ($26) my dining partner had a seafood platter for one ($30) and was pronounced "excellent". It contained scallops grilled on a skewer, crumbed prawns, battered fish, fresh prawns in shells, tender squid pieces, chips and a generous salad.
All food was lovely and fresh.
Service from Bailee at the bar and tables was charming and relaxed.
Will be back soon.

Ate out at the pub Monday and Wednesday and the meals were top class. Great flavours, the right size, not too big, fresh and delicious and just what country pub grub should be like. The owner Lance drives the courtesy bus which we used both times and he and his staff are really really good at what they do.

From the outside and even inside this pub is tired. And I’ll be honest I was a little unsure about if that would be the same for the meals. However, I had nothing to worry about here. The meals were bloody lovely. I had the ribs and my other half had the spaghetti linguine......couldn’t fault either. Ample in size and really good. Good value in terms of price. So the moral of the story, in this case certainly, don’t judge a pub by its cover.

We booked for a group of 15 so it was no surprise they had a large amount of people coming. Lined up for 20 minutes to order with 5 separate orders being placed and was told there would be a bit of a wait for food, no problem, we had 90 minutes before we had to leave. There was one lady in the kitchen who seemed to be doing one dish at a time. 90 minutes later and no sign of anything, when we asked the first order hadn’t even been start so we got a refund and left. As we were leaving some of our group overheard the cook complaining that we were late and that’s why we waited! We weren’t late, we booked for 6.30 and arrived at 6.30. I can’t review the food because I didn’t taste it.

the food was disgusting complimented by rude service. I will never eat here again. unprofessional kitchen staff who do not follow health regulations as I seen the girl use her hands with the vegetables. this place has been turned into a circus.needs a overhaul on kitchen management and staff

My dinner order was not given to the kitchen because I didn't pay, due to misunderstanding that our group was paying. Instead of coming to the table and asking me to pay, I was left waiting for an hour and eventually asked where was my food and told it wasn't ordered! Eventually after the table had finished I got my food 90 minutes after ordering. Better service required please.

A proper pub frequented by locals, no pokies, good food. Simple decor with character. A separate pizza take away that does great pizzas. Outdoor area with views and the Tambo river nearby. Don’t expect the Hilton, it’s how pubs in Australia should be . 5 stars

It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. 3 days never again. It wasn't clean and the bathroom smelt of fish and the jug looked like the inside of a toilet. Not recommended for a lady and no reception on t.v. would have been better in a tent. The only thing good was the friendly staff.

Having booked a room and looking forward to a few days away, we were certainly disappointed when we came across this place.
The Publican had not a clue about the surrounding areas, and really didn't seem to be interested.
As a country Pub which needs tourists money (as no one else was there) it's a no brainer to Try & be Friendly, but obviously not.
Highly disappointed and would not and will not recommend this place!!!

I have stayed at this pub on several other occasions prior to the new owners. The motels rooms a basic. However they are clean, the beds comfortable and the shower hot. What more could you want?. The meals are very good & resonably priced (highly recommend the Lambs Fry). The new owners are very friendly. I don't think they are fishing fanatics & given the short time they have been there I don't expect them to have that much knowledge of the area/fishing. If you want good pub food, basic clean accomodation & friendly service this place fits the bill.
