Friendly attentive staff in an idyllic setting. A real holiday hotel, somewhere to chill and just enjoy being in a special part of the world. Hire your car from them too, no tricky clauses here, they are totally honest and trustworthy. Great pool, close to the beach and all the restaurants.

Best of both worlds. Charmes of a family run hotel and style, quality & accomodation of a 4* resort for a fair price. And all of this at a 5' walk from Kalamaki Beach with its charming and not overly crowded restaurants and bars. If you want to explore the island consider a rental car from the same business.

I live on Crete but come here for a weekend break from time to time, I've tried most of the hotels in the Matala region and this is without doubt the best. Peaceful surroundings in a traditional village setting just a few mins walk from the beach, happy delightful staff and an owner that really wants to see you be...

Great hotel location in Kalamaki for exploring some of the more quieter areas of Southern Crete, and the nearby towns of Kalimari, and Matala. Beautiful hotel grounds and a short walk to a long sandy beach lined with tavernas and cafes. Sincere hospitality from all of the staff and some of the best local food products and offerings from owner...

My wife and I spent a week here in May 2014. We love Crete but this was the first time that we had been to this part of the island. Quieter than some parts of Crete but great for exploring the central south. Not for noisy 18-30 or package holiday crowd but perfect for us (we are now in our...

The Philharmonie is a great place if you decide to spend some time in the relatively quiet village of Kalamaki on Crete. We chose it as our honeymoon getaway and we loved every single minute. The family and the staff that run the hotel are extremely friendly and they will make you feel at home. The hotel is about a...
