Everything about this place is perfect. I've been eight times and each year it improves. The furniture and linen in the rooms has been improved. There's hot water in the shower (not that you need it in such a hot country!). I would ask for the new rooms of which there are four. They are large, airy, en-suite and have...

This was my first trip to The Gambia and to Kaira Konko Lodge. The scouts and the people who run the Lodge are incredibly friendly and helpful, doing whatever they can to make your stay more pleasant. I had a lovely clean room which fortunately had a solar powered fan, meaning I was always able to sleep in the hot...

How anyone could rate this lodge 'poor' is beyond me. From the moment of arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome by everyone at the Scout lodge. The rooms were always spotless and despite having to work in 45 degree heat, each employee was only too happy to help with anything you asked. I will never forget my time...

My 5th trip back and Kaira Konko gets better each time. Two new rooms have been added (so there are now 6 ensuite rooms and 2 rooms with a shared bathroom). The garden has been revamped and now has three brick sitting areas under mango trees - very peaceful and shady. The road outside has been tarmacked so less dust....

I have just returned from a repeat visit to Kaira Konko and was delighted to find that the standard of accommodation continues to improve and the welcome was as warm and friendly as ever. Two brand new tiled rooms with ensuite showers were spotless and the rooms in the main lodge have all been refurbished. We booked full board and...

Good reviews brought me to this place, but reality drove me away after just one night. Not very clean and difficult communication being the main reasons. The lodge is located next to a laterite road (I was told it will be paved in the future). Every few minutes a car will drive by at high speed, causing a huge cloud...

Have just returned from my 7th stay at Kaira Konko in 10 years and I want to go back already! A wonderful place to stay, whether a lone traveller, a couple, family or large group, the people are so friendly and welcoming. A very safe place to watch African life go by whilst being entertained by the local scouts who...

I have visited this warm and welcoming place four times now with colleagues from school to work with children and staff and Soma school. Each time I return I feel I am visiting old friends and enjoy meeting new ones. The scout lodge is ideally situated on the outskirts of Soma - a short walk from the river and five...

I have stayed at Kaira Konko Scout Lodge on five different occasions whilst I have been working at the local school. The rooms are beautifully kept and the environment is safe, friendly and welcoming. In the evenings there are always plenty of opportunities to talk with people from the local community. We have always had wonderful local food cooked by...

Each year a group of staff from the school I work at travel to Soma to work in the local Primary School. We stay at the Kaira Konko Lodge and the staff have become very good friends. There are 6 rooms, 3 ensuite. They are clean and comfortable. Mosquito screens on the windows and nets from the ceiling. Fans in...
