Known as Hotel Concord, this is a lovely local pub in a quiet neighbourhood. The pub has been renovated while keeping many period features like stained glass windows. The rooms are upstairs above the bar. While ear plugs are recommended, the bar noise wasn’t very loud but the pub does close late on weekends.

The rooms are large, renovated and well appointed. There are different bedding combinations at different prices, but even the “single” was a king single. The rooms all have Smart TVs, a kettle, tea & coffee amenities, cupboards, chairs, lamps & air conditioners. There are several shared sex bathrooms available as well as separate toilets. The Smart TVs include Foxtel and Netflix with Optus Sports channels too, as well as free to air options. A nice touch are plantation shutters on windows which also reduced street noise. The beds however are still extremely soft & need mattresses replaced for more stable options.

The pub is across the road from Concord West train station and an easy walk to the Sydney Olympic Park precinct through lovely parks and wetlands. It’s surrounded by well designed cycle paths too. The entire area is very safe for a solo traveller to walk at night back from local events. There’s free street parking on weekends and easy access to major arterials.

The staff are very friendly and efficient. There’s a guest entrance direct to the street which makes accessing the accommodation very easy. The pub is surrounded by good quality eateries, and has a local supermarket, bottle shop & gym 2 minutes away. A definite must visit. The only negative was the inflated price during a major event, at least double what was expected?

Location. very handy to Concord West train station, basically right across the road from it, was ideal for people like us utilising public transport. Check In. This was conducted in the main bar, was quick, seamless and completed in a very short time. One thing that we have never had happen at a pubstay before was the girl who checked us in then took us upstairs and gave us a full run through of our rooms facilities, a walk down to the corridor to show the exit, emergency escape, explained the muster point, then location of the facilities. Room was equipped with fan and air con, tv was good, and sufficient power points for recharging. Facilities. Facilities have recently been upgraded and are clean and in sufficient numbers for the rooms on the floor. All showers/toilets are unisex, so no individual 'male'/'female' areas. We arrived too late for a meal but certainly made use of the bar facilities whice remain open till 2am. No bar noise was audible in the room, and the occasional train passing was no more than a distant rumble, not enough to wake you. One negative thing with the room was there were no cup, no coffee and no milk, only tea bags and sugar.
PRO's: Close to rail station. Clean and recently re-done rooms and facilities. Full explanation of accommodation area including emergency procedures. Friendly staff and a good, local pub feel about it.

CON's: No milk, coffee or cups/mugs in the room. Price was a bit high.
In all I was satisfied and would stay there again.

I can tell you how unclean it is - from the mini fridge and bathrooms not having been cleaned for 2 months with gunk in the corner. Or that whoever put the 'clean' towels on the bed, had dirty hands and left dirty finger prints on those towels. Or that the bed was covered in a flat sheet, then there was a quilt with no quilt cover, but rather a flat sheet on top - therefore you have to wrap yourself in the top flat sheet for the night rather than in bed.

But the biggest issue I had was that they photo copied my card details and one of the staff members either used those details or did not dispose of my details properly. I had 5 unauthorised transactions on that card. How do I know it's associated with this hotel? Because this is the first time I have used that card in at least 6 months, and one of the transactions was for a place near the hotel. Narrow it down and it all comes to this hotel.

I would never, ever stay here again. Would never recommend it. Go anywhere but.

We stayed for 5 nights as it was near the railway line and paid $110 p/night and expected our room to be cleaned or at least towels changed, but it never happened once. You cannot get access before 10am as the hotel is not open and will not answer their phones. It appears to be run by the bar staff. The shower was good but there was no fan or air con and the rooms can be very noisy. We have a self contacted room with ensuite and the vanity was hanging off the wall and no way you could use it as the room was far too small. I will never stay there again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was convenient to stay at because of it's proximity to the NSW Embroiderers Guild. Clean and budget accommodation that has been repainted. The air conditioning was essential but very noisy and the room was still permeated with the smell of cigarettes of bygone years. Old fashioned shared bathroom facilities kept the cost to $70 a night .

Very basic. Shared bathrooms which were often left wet by other people. Stayed four days and had no cleaning service. Had to ask for extra tea, coffee and milk. Had a family room with double bed and bunk. No breakfast available except brunch on sundays. Very close to train station which was a bonus. Very noisy at times

Went for dinner as a group of 6. Average Pub food reasonably priced. After meal went to play the pokies. Here is where the problems started. Only 2 other people playing machines in our area. We were promptly told to keep the noise down. This surprised us as at no time were we shouting or screaming. Then we were told that we had too many people standing around the machine even though we had all put in. Obviously we did not fit the criteria they wanted. ie. Asian, feeding $50.00 notes in all night. We were told they had " Zero Tolerance." but neglected to say about what. Briars or Massey Park Golf Club much friendlier options. Do not go to the Palce at Mortlake as it is the same as Concord West.

Very basic hotel. Across the road from the train station, train noises all night. Air conditioning non-functional, so you have to open the window - see above about train noise.

Shared bathroom and toilet. Yes, toilet singular. Bathroom was last good in the 1950-something. Stand in tub, no shower curtain, water goes everywhere and there is no bath mat.

It’s clean, but no room clean during stay. Chose it for location adjacent to Sydney Olympic Park. Will stay at a youth hostel or backpackers for a step up next time.

Positives? The actual pub itself is good. Friendly staff, good meals and the beer was cold. Just don’t stay there.
