We stayed at Il Castello for two nights at the start of a walk through the Madonie national park. It is in a lovely spot in Petalia, a beautiful small town with great views of the park. N arrival we were given a room on the ground floor next to the breakfast room. It was dark and smelt musty- awful....

We had a great night here. The staff was very friendly with homemade tarts for breakfast. There was no one at the hotel when we arrived (around 2:30 pm) but we called and they promptly showed up and were very nice. Gave us fruit juice and espresso as welcome! It is well worth much more than they are charging! Benefit...

We were very well welcomed, even though we did not have a reservation. Staff was extremely friendly and found us a room. Hotel is in an authentic former castle, which adds lots of charm! You can park your car nearby and visit the town by foot. The hotel restaurant is excellent for dinner, and breakfast (included) offers a lot of...

In Sicily, Petralia Sottana PA, is off the beaten path, but is a place that will give you much pleasure. We were visiting friends who took us to Il Castello for a tour of the hotel and pizza dinner. The hotel has been restored with great attention to every detail and the quality of our meal was excellent. I ordered...

What a lovely treasure. The hotel is spotless with lovely beds and more than enough space. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. The village is easy to explore and we had the best Pizza ever. The hotel restaurant is superb with a menu filled with the freshest dishes, executed to perfection. Would love to return.

We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely hotel. The welcome was warm and friendly, the room was large and spotless, and breakfast was more than adequate. If you can, plan your stay over the weekend so that you can experience their restaurant which opens on Friday night. The setting is amazing, local specialties and traditional Italian food and an...

Very large comfortable rooms in a perfect location in the centre of the village. The hotel has real character - it may not be an old castle, but it gives all the appearances of one. A very good huge meal, and the pizzas are good too. For breakfast, you have to like cake! Looked after us well.

Beautiful view in the most amazing mountains outside of Switzerland. Amazing and friendly staff especially the exuberant girl who runs breakfast. They've got a real steal there! Feels like a family run business in a medieval Sicilian town. I wish them all the luck in the world. Go and give them your money

I stayed at Il Castello as part of a walking tour of the Madonie Park in Sicily. The location in Petralia Sottana is perfect for exploring the mountains. From our arrival, the staff were pleasant and helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Our room (no4) was spacious and well furnished and had its own terrace with a large picnic table....

We arrived here in the mid-morning after an overnight train journey from Rome, to a warm welcome. Our room was on one of the higher floors, which involved a bit of huffing and puffing (did not matter in the least as we were on a walking trip), since there is no elevator. Room itself was large and airy, looking out...
