Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in hotel Le Chalet for 5 days to go hiking in the mountains at end May. We enjoyed a very nice holiday. The hotel team are very friendly and the evening meal was excellent.
The restaurant was fully booked every evening , so make shure to book in advance
A hotel to remember for future stays!

What a wonderful warm welcome we were given by the staff. This is a family hotel, which has been in the same family for several generations, and you can tell. Hospitality is in their blood (particularly the older lady mentioned in other reviews - does she ever go to bed?!). They bend over backwards to make sure that you enjoy your stay and feel relaxed and comfortable. They keep the hotel renovated and modern (yet still with character), on an ongoing basis, and everything was perfect. The room was comfortable, the dinner was lovely, and the breakfast was great. We loved it.

Le Chalet is a family-run hotel set in stunning mountain scenery. Great for walking if you're fit enough, lovely to look at anyway. The food is good and the rooms comfortable. The half-board option is particularly good value. It was very hot when we were there, which made the swimming pool particularly welcome.

First of all, village is great, region is great. The people at the hotel are very, very nice.
The rooms are big. Quiet. Clean. All good. But it is very expensive for what you get. The rooms are old. No WiFi in some rooms (like mine) because it is “too far from the router”. No WiFi in 2020? Also no shower in the bath. So all you can do is sit in bath.
Restaurant also good. But room 110 Euro is too expensive. I give it a 7: some improvements would make it an 8 or 9.

We returned after a 3 year gap.
We were welcomed by the owner and shown to our room across a very quite road in a modern annex. The room was on the first floor with a balcony with a view of the mountains. There was an excellent shower and separate toilet.
Evening meals were taken in the restaurant back over the road in a lovely dinning room. Even though we were staying only 2 nights were were offered halfboard which was a 4 course meal including a very good cheese board.
Breakfast was taken in a dedicated breakfast room overseen by a lady who could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide range of choices.
There is a large car park and a garage at the hotel.
We are happy to recommend this hotel and plan to return next summer on our motorcycle.

We spent two nights at the Chalet.
The owners and staff are professional, friendly and helpful.
The restaurant offers delicious dishes served by a very attentive and professional personnel.
Bedroom was cleaned and pleasant. Our bathroom however was in need of some upgrade (shower) and paper tissues and a fridge would be welcomed.
A great stay overall.
We will definitively recommend this great Hotel to our all friends

Lovely spot, nice people, great location and great food.
Quite rural France, no English spoken but that doesn't matter makes all the more fun. Food fantastic, scenery and location faultless, rooms large, clean and warm, comfy bed, didn't get to try the pool but will if we get a chance to go back.

Friendly atmosphere, welcoming service, comfortable cosy rooms with fantastic views and good food. The heated pool was a welcome bonus after a long journey. It is a shame that the breakfast room has no windows or view. It is unattractive and the buffet choice was disappointing.

Good points: Good service (we were especially impressed by the older lady who was present from breakfast to supper and even afterwards), great on-site restaurant, nice pool (the retractable cover came in handy as the weather wasn't great during our stay yet we were still able to swim), large room (we booked a triple since we were traveling with a young child and baby, which ended up being a suite with two separate rooms -- very convenient), lovely village and surroundings.
Bad points: The décor is dated, and the breakfast was very disappointing -- for 11,50 euros I at the very least expected some hot food. But the worst thing about our stay was that our room smelled strongly of smoke. We generally prefer to stay in bed and breakfasts so I don't have much experience with hotels, but this is the first time that I've encountered this problem, and I have a hard time imagining that smoking rooms are still politically correct in 2014 (or maybe only because I'm Canadian). There was a no-smoking sign on the outside of the door (and every other door as far as I could tell), but I did notice later that my reservation confirmation stated (way down at the bottom in small print) that it was a smoking room. I clearly indicated that we were traveling with two small children, so if they planned to put us in a smoking room I feel like they should have clearly informed us and asked if that was okay (which it wouldn't have been).
I guess to sum it up, this hotel made for a convenient stay, but lacked the charms that would have made it a great holiday.

"The hotel has a more modern annexe on the opposite side of a not very busy road. Breakfast is served in the annexe, diner in the main building. The hotel has some 30 rooms. There is probably more sunshine in the rooms in the annexe, most of which have balconies."

"Rooms in the more modern building are likely to be quieter. That said, we had Room 9 in the old building facing the road and were only disturbed by dustbins being emptied at 6pm on Monday and Thursday, as traffic completely stops at night. It is a lovely sunny room."
