On the positive side, the food was good and there is a nice terrace and pool area. However, our "comfort" room was tiny and stuffy with a poor bathroom. Even with the window wide open, we couldn't cool down the room on a warm September evening. On our second night, a large party in a private room was allowed to...

We found this hotel whilst driving through France en route to Spain. Our main requirement was somewhere to eat and somewhere that accepted dogs! We found both with L'Ermitage and so much more..... Firstly the location is beautiful, it's a stunning village, with beautiful walks straight from the front door. Secondly the restaurant was par excellence! We arrived early evening,...

You couldn't ask for better - the location, facilities and rooms are very good, but above all the food is fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this 'gem' to anyone and very under-rated - Luxury for mid price. Room tip - ask for a room at the back of the hotel.... there is a little noise for the rooms on...

We actually visited the restaurant twice during our recent visit in the Sarthe region in France. Both were for lunch and everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. they offer various combinations of menus - entree + plat, plat+ entree, all 3, or all 3 with fromage. And at different pricing levels. The service is impeccable and very proper. They have a...

We went for lunch as the restaurant is closed in the evening off season. Gorgeous food from the set menu included Tartar or tartlet to start followed by beef bourginon or salmon for the entree and finished with coffee and creme brûlée. All beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. It was a great lunch that lasted two hours - no...

Stopped of on way to Loire from Cherbourg. Took gourmet deal at 172 euro for 2 which was worth every cent. Fabulous food and wine all included, breakfast was the same standard. Lovely pool and sauna and excellent quality bikes free of charge. If Carlsberg could do a small hotel this would be it! Will be back next year

Welcoming and easy going hotel with great amenities - swimming pool, crazy golf and ping-pong - and really excellent food. The cheapest rooms are fine - small but with good views of the beautiful garden. It is quietly located in a small but attractive village. Drinks with complimentary hors d'oeuvres on the terrace before dinner were a highlight.

I stayed at L'Hermitage during the Le Mans 24hrs week in early June 2015 and have done so for the last 10 years. That probably says it all. This is a wonderful little hotel, whether as a base to explore the Le Mans/Tours area or as a stop en route to or from the ferry ( it is about 130...

We stayed at l'Ermitage on a Sunday night , on our way to Brittany from Paris , having chosen it at the very last moment , based on the great reviews from Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. L'ermitage is a French Hotel as all French hotels should be ....charming buildings and garden , instantly friendly with a sincere...

The pillows were like two bags of cotton wool balls. Sounds good? Nope. I prefer a pillow to be comfortable. That aside. This hotel is quite special. It has a Michelin rating. My first venture into Michelin world. At least knowingly. At dinner, which stops at 9pm, we were given a freebie. An "amuse bouche", a warm glass of pulverised...
