Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in order to attend a match at the Rugby World Cup in Lille. We chose the Lys Hotel as it was only a half-hour drive from the stadium and was priced sensibly (unlike hotels actually in Lille). Our welcome was warm and friendly and the couple who run the hotel were incredibly nice and helpful throughout our short stay. Our room was better than we'd expected for the price, with a comfortable queen-sized bed, and was spotlessly clean. We liked also the free parking at the back of the hotel (accessed through an archway under the hotel with PIN code access to the gates at night). Breakfast was fine, with each guest getting a small basket of fresh bread, croissant and pain au chocolat. There was some ham and some nice little cheeses for those who aren't wild about the sweetness of some French breakfasts. We'll definitely be back if our travels take us to this locality again.

Stayed here previously & found it to be good, the owners are pleasant & helpful. Point to note, there are no brewing facilities in the rooms, well our room did not have any? The bonus at this hotel is secured parking. It also as a lift just in case you have mobility issues. All in all a pleasant stay.

You feel right at home as soon as you enter this hotel. The owners are there themselves to serve you. There is secure free parking out back of the hotel. Free wifi and a reasonably priced breakfast buffet. Our room was spotlessly clean and the service was excellent. One thing that I would suggest would be to have one or two English channels on the TV. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 3 nights while attending recent Paschendale Commemoration events. The couple who run this hotel couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive despite their apparent lack of English!! Breakfast choice is very good, bar well stocked and they do a limited dinner menu (on the nights restaurants in the town don't open). Rooms aret basic but clean & comfortable. Plenty of space in car park. Tremendous value for money.

Friendly hotel. Helpful owners. Madame spoke good English and was very accommodating. 3rd floor room clean, comfortable, nice hot shower, fan. Breakfast good value with great croissants. Nice Garden to sit in . Although this hotel doesn't do a huge evening meal menu every night it did offer meals some nights (Monday other restaurants shut) Fresh homemade quiches and salad. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again

We stopped here on our way home from southern France. It has plenty of secure car parking for bikes etc. The rooms are small and clean and the shower nice and powerful. The only thing missing was tea and coffee making facilities. Although reasonably priced in the bar up to 10pm. The staff were excellent and really helpful. Spending time to help us get transport into Lille. The bar was reasonably stocked and priced. The buffet breakfast was good quality and I would definitely use this hotel again.

Small rooms, but clean and comfortable. We arrived too late to sample the bar (it closes at 22:00) and had to leave too early to enjoy the breakfast( starts at 07:00) so I cannot vouch for the catering. There is free secured parking and free wifi. If you want to get out after 22:00, you can only enter with a code but since you receive that code with your room key, that's no trouble. A pity one of the guests lighted a sigarette in the middle of the night, but hey - the staff cannot help that and one thing is for sure: the fire-alarm works :)

Very good value - free parking, WiFi and buffet breakfast. t.v. Lovely fresh croissants, usual selection of cold meats, cheese, yoghourts, cereals, breads, fruit... Nicely decorated with a pretty little garden. Nice big bed and shower room. No kettle or water in rooms

While parking is a rad difficult at times this hotel is well priced, comfortable and meets the needs of most travellers. Even with a coach party of 30 all descending on the breakfast room at the same time, the hotel coped well. The rooms were clean and comfortable although the wifi was a tad weak. All in all a good place to stay.
