We had found this B&B on the internet and booked one week in August, with our 10 year old daughter. Arriving at Il Fornacino we were welcomed by Lora, the owner. With her husband (or boyfriend) she runs the place. She's very kind and helpful, actually they all are! The apartment is beautiful and airconditoned (extra payment) and the garden... More

Lora & Marco are the owner of this beatiful place in which you can live a fantastic experience in the middle of Tuscany country side pretty close to Castiglioncello sea-side. Lora is a charming English lady and Marco is a lawyer coming from Milano. They decide to restructured an old farm and they really created a special and unique place... More

Right. Where do i start? We had such a good stay with the lovely Lora and Marko. Lora always welcoming from start to finish. Her lovely pizza nights and 6 course tuscan meal. To her entertaining and informative chats. Staying on this lovely farm with its beautiful scenery, amazing pool and picturesque area, you could wish for anything better. The... More

I cannot put into words that would do any justice to how we feel about Podere II Fornacino, so whatever I say multiply it by 100. That is how much we enjoyed our stay here. Between Rome and Venice, this was our respite from the rigors of travel and sightseeing and a very busy life in general. The Delle Rose... More

Thanks Lora and Marco for the most fantastic stay in Italy. We only spent one night but as soon as we were at the top of the driveway wished we had booked for longer. The entire experience was above and beyond our expectations. We really appreciated the respect and love for the land that you conveyed in the rooms and... More

Italian friends recommended this agritourismo to us, and it was a great choice. We stayed for 4 nights in the della rose room. The room was beautiful, combining both old and new and overlooked the beautiful front garden. The loggia in front of our door had a picnic table that we used many times to enjoy the view over the... Waking up here was a dream. We stayed in the Suite de Farfalle - with a mezzanine level bedroom and a living room/bathroom downstairs. It was light and spacious, beautifully furnished, with a private entrance. The grounds and view from the breakfast table were awesome- olive trees and rolling hills. Breakfast itself is the thing I've been talking about ever... More

Beautiful place, about 50 mins drive from Pisa airport = stayed for one night before a week in a villa nearby with friends. Owners were super helpful and friendly - it was very hot but the room was cool and beautifully furnished. The pool is lovely, although can get crowded if all guests are down there. Three of us were... More

If you want to really experience Tuscany than look no further than Podere Il Fornacino. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind while still being close enough (only a short drive) to Pisa, Florence and many of the other gems in Tuscany. Breakfast is delicious and make sure you book at least one meal in the restaurant, Marco's cooking... More

A beautiful agriturismo which embraces an ecological ethos. Excellent food, lovely rooms in a superb setting. As much as possible is sourced either on site or from nearby including delicious bio-ethical wine. The food is based on what is available and Marco creates amazing tasting menus once or twice a week for dinner. Breakfasts include home cured meats, yogurt and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The house has been lovingly renovated with a perfect balance of both Tuscan tradition and modern architecture, by the Pizzoccheri family who also wished to preserve, as far as possibile, the relationship with the nature surrounding the property, with the land, with it’s produce and with animals in a small working farm which is lovingly tended to in a modern and ecologically friendly manner. As a guest you can get a taste of the tranquil Tuscan way of life and the culinary specialities which both the location and Marco and Lora’s diligence, including in the kitchen, are able to offer you. The house is surrounded by a large garden with lawns and many varieties of plants and trees. There is also an attractive swimming pool with stunning rural views. The surrounding area offers visitors many possibilities for walking and bird spotting. Nature lovers will appreciate the beautiful scenery and walks in the Mediterranean woods which grow on the hills above the village. The many islands of the Tuscan archipelago can be reached from Piombino and Livorno and the islands of Elba and Capraia are possible as a day trip. ... more   less
