We spent a few days in this very special residence. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Delicious breakfast. Extremely charming refurbished building in the middle of the historic town of Calvisson. The owners have spent long years bringing this building back to beauty. You have a lot of antique furniture, dozens of lovely paintings by the artist owner and a very comfortable vaulted dining lounge with free wifi. No, this is not Venice, we are in Southern France.
the room was very quaint and traditional with lovely stone floors, characterful property, clean and tidy, but always felt as if you were intruding! Lots to see and do in the vicinity, we got there for the bull run and the villagers were all concentrated in the village square, we joined in and were made to feel welcome with the locals. Difficult to find a parking spot.
A lovely old house beautifully presented. The room we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was included and adequate. Our host Corinne was extremely helpful and ensured she was present at breakfast to assist us with her knowledge of the area we wished to visit, and was full of great ideas for things to do in the area. There is no parking at the property but we had no problem with parking within walking distance to the house. Calvisson is a lovely village but lacks choice for evening meals. Calvisson is perfectly placed to visit lots of of beautiful towns and interesting sights. Tony and Marilyn. Australia
We loved the house and room - very authentic, quirky, with real character, and a nice comfortable bed. Room amenities were quite basic, but adequate and good value for the low price of 65 euros b&b per night. Breakfast was simple, but good quality, with fantastic coffee. The b&b is owned by a couple, but unfortunately for us, only the husband was there during our 2 night stay. The welcome we received was lukewarm to the point of indifference. We were not shown any of the communal areas, or roof terrace - i had to ask about this as I knew about it from the website. Interaction at breakfast was monosyllabic, even though I tried to engage the owner in conversation using my fairly basic French. Looking at other reviews, it may be that our stay would have been more enjoyable had Corinne been there. We would have asked to extend our stay had we felt more welcome, as we love Calvisson - it is a non-touristy genuine French villag, close to some fantastic cities and countryside in an area we have come to love. So to sum up - great place, shame about the welcome.…
We spent 2 nights in this delightful home in May 2012 - the house is very old but recently remodeled and very comfortable with modern plumbing, plenty of electrical outlets, but best of all, the owners are very hospitable and helpful. Breakfast is included and delicious but dinner, which is extra, is very special if you choose it. The town is small and quaint - you can walk anywhere. Don't let the church bells deter you - they're silenced from 11 pm till 7 am and, frankly, I found that they added flavor - were never intrusive.
