I stayed at this hotel with My Myanmar staff for 4 days from the 8th August 2010. The staff were very friendly & had picked up some Sinhala words from guest who had come earlier to greet me. The only hitch I had was they did not switch on the generator when there was a power failure at midnight as there were only a few guest & was thought as uneconomical. I had to stand my ground to get the generator switched on as it was hot in august unlike when I visited the area in December on previous occasions. The food was a little oily buy the way Myanmar food is cooked. Early breakfast was ready by 05.00 am every day for us. The staff did everything possible to make up for a few short comings. A nice place to stay.

The old rooms are fairly dated now, especially in the plumbing department but really big room, massive bed and teak panelled walls give an air of history.

The location is ok, away from the jetty but it's a small place anyway. Bit noisy with dogs but not much the hotel can do with that.

Staff are really friendly and helpful, they arranged for a package to be received, chased up the bus company when they didn't pick us up on time and provided the room at 6am when we arrived unexpectedly early.

Breakfast was the usual Myanmar tourist food of eggs and toast but at least their omelettes were an actual omelette.

Room Tip: Check out the newer rooms as the older ones have issues with the poor water pressure.

Stayed here in May 2015 in a family room. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was generous. The staff were very welcoming - even following up a day later after we had problems with a phone charger earlier in the visit. The hotel is on the main road into Nyaung Shwe, back from the centre of town. It is a 5-10 walk to the main market area.

No AC and was freezing all night and morning. Poop on shower curtain and wouldn't replace. Internet didn't work but said so on website. Breakfast room was freezing too. I don't recommend for the $50 we paid.

This hotel was recommended to us by our travel agent in Bagan. It's cute and comfortable with lovely teak accents everywhere, We loved having a Myanmar beer on our little porch. What made this one of our favorite hotels was the outstanding staff. Every time we sat on the porch to have a beer the staff would bring us a snack to have with our beer with their compliments. They had our key in our hand the moment we walked on the property. Breakfast was lovely and they were so warm and friendly. We had arranged for a night bus and had already checked out of the hotel at noon, but they not only held our bags, but offered us tea and biscuits and mango. They even asked if we would like to use a room to take a shower. I've never received such kind and wonderful treatment from any hotel in my life. They were the loveliest people and I would give them a hundred stars for the welcome we felt there. It was like staying with family.

Everything was fine about my stay there, but nothing made it stand out either. Clean rooms, helpful staff but not excessively friendly either. The main problem would be the price, which is quite high in regard to the room provided. Had to add 15 USD (!) for a third guest in the room even though the bed was already there. Good location but then again, Nyaungshwe is a small town.

Of the various hotels I've stayed in during my trip around Myanmar, this one was definitely my favourite.

It is located a 10 minute walk away from the small harbor where you can rent a boat for a trip around the Inle Lake. The staff is excellent, really helpful and speaks fluent English.

The large rooms are kept in a local style, are reasonably clean and everything was working - including the warm water which isn't all that usual in Myanmar.

My only complaints are the breakfast (only toast and jam) and the fact that they don't offer WiFi yet, but overall I really enjoyed my stay there and the rooms are good value for money.

This hotel was not luxurious but comfortable. Located in a very central but quiet part of town it was within walking distance of many restaurants and the market. Several types of rooms are available, small ground floor rooms with individual verandas, and some others on an upper floor with a shared veranda.
The breakfast was good, and all the staff very friendly. They come in and clean your room daily. My room had a shower head that gave a light show changing colour depending on the temperature of the water - very bizarre!
Would definitely stay there again

This hotel looks like it’s been standing quite a few years through the thick and thin of tourism in Burma. It’s a bungalow style complex with four rooms per bungalow. The rooms are simple, but adequate. The TV is tiny, but there isn’t much on anyway. The beds are comfortable, everything is clean and the hot water works a treat. The staff are courteous and helpful whcih we found to be typical of people in Burma. The location of the hotel is good. It’s about 500meters to the town center and market. The breakfast was pretty average, but after having traveled in Burma a bit over the last few weeks, I think this is not perculiar to this hotel. I think someone has been through and made it regulation to serve “American Breakfast”. Not sure who determined that this is what Americans eat, but if they do, I don’t think I’ll be visiting the Americas any time soon.

On the whole, we loved Nyang Shwe and the lake and could have spent another two nights there. The boat on the lake was nice, but it takes quite a long time to get out into the main area of the lake from town. Once out there it was great. The weaving of lotus fibres goes down as one of the most painstaking jobs I’ve every witnessed. The silver-smiths were skilled, although what they were producing was not from overly inspired designs I thought. The food here is good. There are some local places and also a restaurant called the Golden Kite. The owner is curiously infatuated with Italian food. He spoke at length of his love for pasta making which asides from being quite interesting was also hilarious, complete with Italian accent and mannerisms at times. The best part of our stay in Nyang Shwe was renting a couple of bicycles and just riding the small roads and trails around the outside of town. It’s a really beautiful area and we met a lot of friendly people. Nyang Shwe I think was my favorite stop on our trip in Burma. I’d highly recommend spending some time here.

I was so impressed with this hotel. The owners and staff are very humble, kind and helpful. The breakfast options are fresh and delicious, they even do pancakes quite well! The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds comfortable. The price is extremely reasonable for how lovely this place was.
