Stayed twice for a one night business trip over the last few months. The accommodation is of high standard with clean comfortable rooms. Parking is easy and the hosts are helpful and friendly. Breakfast fab! Would highly recommend if you are looking to stay on the area.

We spent only one night in the Grange, but had a great time. House is modern, clean, beautiful. Bed and bedding was great. Everything was immaculately clean. There was no wardrobe in the room, which didnt bother us at all as there is a rod and hangers. Great shower with high water pressure. Downstairs there is a common lounge with large telly and plenty channels to choose from (there is even Netflix). Comfy sofas with cosy blankets. My daughter loved watching her favourite Peppa pig there. Big choice of beers and ciders. Amazing host, friendly and extra available. Very good breakfast in the morning. Car park in fron if the house. Fantastic garden with lively vie to viaduct.
Recommended with all my heart!
Thank Hannah

I stayed here last weekend and can only say I was pampered from start to finish. Nothing was too much for the hosts Gethin and Nikki and he service was impeccable. The house itself has been converted and decorated to the highest standards and our room, the Black room had the most incredible view out across the viaduct. The breakfasts and dinners were exceptional, the location is perfect on the edge of the national park, all in all it ticked all of my boxes

Knowledgeable, considerate and awesome at making breakfasts!
I'm a Vegan and I have rarely felt so welcome: the hosts went out of their way to accommodate my every need.

Closer area is special and you have to be used to. We stayed in the black room - before midnight and at 3:30 in the morning propably heating or something else switched on with a noise we have never heard of in a B&B or any other house / hotel. Unbelivable that nobody so far mentioned that. We could not sleep and the night was very short. Breakfast was o.k. - but we have never given a tea or coffee in a B&B directly within a cup. We always received a pot with the choice of milk and sugar - here we just got a cup with advance notice of milk and sugar.....are we in UK? Overall we would not recomment this Guesthouse for Couples without very great biking interests. Our rating average takes into account that bike friendly Couples and Friends would like the Guesthouse due to the location to the national park.
BTW: No kettle, no tea, coffee, water... whatsoever were in the room - no jam or fruits at breakfast..... of course you could always ask for and "pay extra"....

We’re really sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay with us. You said that you stayed in the Black Room - and the noise you heard will be from the pump that provides pressure to the showers in all 5 rooms - as this is located in the airing cupboard near to the door to that room. The pump has been soundproofed as much as possible and should not make any kind of noise unless someone is using a shower. If it was making a noise overnight then this is something we need to investigate & fix. It’s not something that has previously been reported to us, as we try to get things like this fixed as soon as we can, or close the room if we know it’s not going to meet the standards we expect. Just to clarify a few of your other points: Hot drinks (tea, coffee & hot chocolate) are available all the time, free of charge, from us in the kitchen - especially if you want “proper coffee” from the espresso machine, rather than instant. We’re always happy to put a kettle with tea & coffee in the room (it’s mentioned on the same sign as the WIFI code on the bedroom door). The reason they’re not in the room when you arrive is that the vast majority of our guests don’t use or want them. Fruit and jams are available at breakfast on request (we bring everything out fresh so it’s in the best condition) and it says this on the breakfast menu. The only thing we charge extra for is evening meals, alcoholic drinks and bottles & cans of soft drinks. As you can see from our other reviews (many of them from other non-cycling couples), we always try to go the extra mile to make sure your stay at The Grange is special. In this case we’ve failed. From our point of view, we’re both frustrated that it happened and that you didn’t let us know about these problems. If you’d given us the opportunity, we would have tried to resolve them or offered you a discount on your stay if we couldn’t. Regards Gethin & Nikki The Grange Guesthouse
