Beautiful building of historic interest in high Rioja region, surrounded by vineyards and wineries. Monasteries and abbeys, hiking and riding. Very nice breakfast, you can repeat or ask for more products.. We were treated by the awesome staff very very nice, they were friendly and close. Gorgeous place in Rioja!

Difficult to get rooms in what seems to be slightly expensive hotel with no restaurant except breakfast. BUT for a town with 2 streets and the ultimate in charm, this is a great place to stay for 2 - 3 nights even if the village only has two places to eat. For pilgrims on the Camino, $160 a night or...

Four of us were on a short driving holiday around Rioja in late May 2016 and stayed here 3 nights as a central place to visit towns and wineries. It is a lovely historic hotel behind a big brick facade which gives it great privacy. There is limited parking on site - only 2-3 spaces. The reception and bar staff...

So I guess remote rural settings are not for everyone, and it also depends on the mood of the guest as to what kind of review is posted. So here is mine..... We arrived knowing that the village is VERY small but its on el Camino and thought it might get a few walkers. We had an amazing lunch of...

There is no Air conditioning in the rooms, however they are quite cool and very clean. The staff have excellent English and cannot do enough to make your visit to the hotel and the area more pleasurable. The immediate area is very quite so you will require a car to get food / view the sites

Although over priced, this is one of the most beautiful hotels in all of Spain. The downside was the staff refused to let us sit in the parlor and drink our own wine. The room decor was lovely, and very comfortable. If you need a good rest and want to splurge, this is a lovely spot. Note, the town offers...

We stayed two nights en route across Spain. After seven hours driving we arrived to find no restaurant and it is impossible to find some where to eat in the area on a Monday evening out of season. So no dinner. We asked for a bottle of wine. The choice of two. One white one red. The only saving grace...

I was sorry I had made a reservation here while walking the Camino. This was the most pretentious place I stayed in (and that included a few Paradores). It is unwelcoming, dark and gothic. While some of the staff were friendly they couldn't compensate for the pretentiousness of the others. Wi fi very spotty and available only in the bar...

Wrong accommodation. Not for a client of ours, these claims are false and regret the inaction of advisor to verify. In establishing the pool it is only summer season was not open at the date that wrote this person. The wi-fi is not alone in the cafeteria, there are in all public areas of the hotel, all rooms and outdoor...

Booked through Hotels.com as a stop over from San sebastian to Sitges. It is in a little village which sits across the camino pilgrimage trail. What a outstanding place, you walk into a oasis of tranquility full of the most delightfull antiquites and decor in the tradition of a old Spanish Hacienda. Nice gardens and an outdoor pool (bit on...

The setting and building is lovely, however we found the staff very inflexible. The room had no air conditioning, open the windows and you have dogs barking and bells ringing all night so didn't get a good night's sleep as it was really hot with the windows closed. The cafe/bar was supposedly open until 11.30 pm. We came back at...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This luxury boutique hotel restored from a 17th century palace is considered by public authorities as a building of cultural interest. It retains the warmth of the past without giving up modern facilities in line with today standards. Its wonderful decoration offers diverse styles that evoke a sense of past times.Located in the town of Azofra, it has a strategic location in the heart of La Rioja Alta. The Rioja Region offers visitors a great many varied attractions and the region is of great cultural interest being the cradle of the Spanish language and traversed by Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago. It offers a wealth of wines and gastronomy, ancestral feasts and traditions, and a wide range of natural landscapes where its peoples are hearty and sociable. The communal areas are divided into three zones, a Florentine-Style Lobby, a lounge zone and a library. All of them offer a relaxed family atmosphere. The main hall is an inviting room both in winter, with its welcoming fireplace, and in summer, with its delightful natural illumination. The bar and second hall are two places to enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon or an aperitif before supper. The original floorboards, large comfortable sofas, elegant antiques and the prevailing grey and reddish hues of the décor, invite one to read, rest or chat with friends after enjoying any of the numerous activities offered by La Rioja and its environments. In addition, you can connect to Internet by Wi-Fi access. ... more   less
