A let-down from the start. We were impressed when we spotted the frontage, but had to go a long way round to the back to enter the property (booked well in advance). A dog barked fiercely at us as we parked our car in an empty yard. Finally, a man left a greenhouse-annexe affair and pointed to a long, dirty...

Welcomed by friendly chap but shown to a tired room round side of house and had to go through a 'utility room/kitchenette to get to the bathroom. Thought perhaps we had to bring own food but when I went to main entrance and rang the bell no one came! However breakfast was gorgeous and served on large communal table. Same...

The mixed reviews on the site suggest that some people see "Chateau" and think that guests will live like royalty amid gilded furniture and crystal chandeliers. However, once you get inside, you can see that the estate has had better days. The couple that has bought the place a few years ago is fixing it up, but current the decor...

Where to start? Pathetic breakfasts featuring burnt (two mornings in a row) croissants, orange juice served in a minuscule glass fit to serve a single shot of whisky in, and little more (no refill possible with what was provided on the table). Stayed here for one night, 2 single ladies NOT wanting to share a double bed. We got a spacious suite with a total of 4 beds, at the front of the chateau. Clean, great bathroom, lovely view over the gardens. Explored all 3 floors of this quirky building. Its just a 7 minute walk into the centre of this beautiful...

I stayed here whilst on a cycle tour of France. The chateau was fantastic and the owners very friendly and accommodating. Room was large and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The location made it easy to walk into the town which was very pleasant with several resaurants and bars. The old church is worth a visit. I...

we only stayed one night but found it a delightful experience---it's a strange old building with lots of character full of strange and interesting things. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious---we didn't see much of the hosts, but that was fine. We had a good bottle of wine and a plain French breakfast with the other guests. Sat in...
