It's always a good time to revisit El Castañar Nazarí, specially in autumn. Wonderful landscapes in gold and red, spotted wherever by their ancient chestnut trees. The color of the skies at dawn among silence -such an image of serenity. Wonderful room with all the facilities -including a really king size bed wich guarantees a deep sleep after de thay.... More

This is the perfect place to stay to experience the Sierra Nevada in southern Spain. It is just five kilometers from the highest altitude town in the Alpujarra, Televerez, which you can walk to from the property. Besides the big, cozy beds and rooms, and the amazing views from each the owners are exceptionally hospitable and genuinely friendly. My fiance... More

A beautiful place to stay in a fantastic surrounding. The owners are the kind of people you want to bring home, cause they always make you smile. There are plenty of walking paths surrounding the place and a few villages nearby. We loved the place. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing view of the mountains from our room. The owners, Encarna and Felix, have thought of everything. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. They made us welcome in every way, delicious food, help to locate good walks and cups of tea etc on our return. The only downside is the 10 minute drive to Trevelez... More

We spent a couple of days here and feel like we made a couple of new friends. Everything has already been said about the fabulous rooms and the views from the rooms. All I can add is that we felt completely at home and comfortable sleeping with all the windows open to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Encarna and Félix... More

We knew we had made a good choice since the first moment we arrived at the hotel. The room was charming and the views were amazing. The hosts were extremely friendly and made the whole experience wonderful. By the time we were there (beginning of August) there was a jazz festival in a village nearby, something worth a visit as... The moment we arrived at El Castanar we were welcomed very warm and friendly. It made us feel at home immediately. We were given very useful information about the surrounding and the couple that runs El Castanar showed us our very nice, big room with exceptional view of the mountains. We had the El Alamo room, which is a comfortable... More

We wanted somewhere in the Alpujarras region of the Sierra Nevada, ideally in a rural location rather than one of the two main towns (Orgiva and Lanjarron). El Castanar Nazari was selected on the basis of its uniformly excellent Tripadvisor reviews, and it proved a great choice. Although in a relatively isolated area, the hotel is easily reached on well... More

Staying at the El Castanar Nazari was a figurative and literal high point of our trip to Spain. The location allowed us to escape the standard tourist route and see a part of the country that seemed real. The white villages, the mountains, and the peace and quiet were all welcome. The inn itself is a gem. The unique, large... More
