Disappointed that the gorgeous setting and comfortable rooms were let down by the unfriendly and un-welcoming attitude of some of the key staff. Right from arrival, through our first (and last) meal in the restaurant we felt as though the staff were doing us some great favour. This place is gorgeous. Its a converted farmhouse in the middle of nowhere - although this part of Andalusia has I think become fairly saturated with Brits who read that Driving over lemons book - with lovely rooms built into the old wooden framed buildings. This place, in the southeast edge of the Alpujarran Mountains, was recommended through several major guidebooks and, overall, we agree it's worth a visit. We had headed through Almeria to San Jose, which was a totally horrible resort where we had the worst meal imaginable. Don't trust the rough guide!
