Couldn’t fault the apartment but getting in required accessing app 3 times every time! When we arrived we couldn’t access our key fob to parking and after several calls we were told the parking fob dispenser was broken and the key was in our room. The people I spoke to regarding all our problems were polite but both said they hadn’t been to the apartments so could t help with location of car park!! We didn’t use the park as it was so tight and we had two other clients do the same which meant on the first night we had to pay $42 for overnight parking in Aldi!! Next day being Sunday we found a free street park. We arrived at 3pm and by the time we accessed our room we were so stressed, never ever have we had so much trouble checking in. Unless you have a very small car or you are used to using a stacking carpark don’t book this accomodation.

Hi Carmel, We appreciate your feedback from your recent stay with us. Although the apartments do require multiple points of security before accessing your room, guests find comfort in added safety at the property as the public cannot roam within the levels or building. I do apologize if the receptionist at the time of your check-in couldn't confidently direct you. We are in the middle of training. Although the complimentary onsite parking stacker can seem daunting upon first use, our team confirms all vehicle details prior to providing access to ensure all safety requirements are met. Kind regards, Vanessa - Office Manager

I have absolutely no complaints about this apartment it is a great place. I highly recommend it to you. We even had a view of Melbourne city from our room. My review is mainly to warn future guests that there is a construction site right next door and if you stay on the 5th floor you can wave to the guys as they work. Their hours are 7am-3pm Mon to Fri and around 9.30-2pm Saturdays. If you are an early riser and out most of the day this should be no issue as outside those hours is fine.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Once again we sincerely apologize for the disturbance. The apartment you were occupying is usually our best seller! It is unfortunate that the construction next to us hindered your stay. We hope to accommodate you in the near future once all the construction is over!

Every thing is there, really comfortable bed, you can cook wash and dry, with Brunswick St life and restaurants round the corner. On the downside, the car space is in a car stacker, which is a hassle if your coming and going a lot also the key is on an app which you need to activate 3 times to get into your room also time consuming

Hi Joan Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at District in Fitzroy. I'm glad to hear you had a comfortable stay with us. District Apartments is a tucked-away gem perfectly located between Brunswick Street & Smith Street, where you will find an array of cafes, bars, restaurants, and independent retail stores within walking distance. The benefit of secure parking within the property is a plus given Fitzroy's street parking is limited. Being a boutique hotel, a car stacker system allows 3x the amount of parking to be provided, I do apologize if you found this system to be a hassle with regularly coming and going guests can always opt for the ample street parking located outside the building between short trips. The updated electronic key system can be delicate, to begin with; however, it has shown great success across all locations. Our reception team is available to answer any questions regarding operating a digital key, and with our 24-hour concierge service, you are never left without assistance. We hope to have you stay again soon! Kind regards, Vanessa Office Manager

Great location, light and bright apartment with good sized balcony. Free parking was an added bonus as street parking is difficult. The digital key system was tricky to download into phones at first and once our phone ran out and we couldn't get back in. But apart from this District is a good value hotel in the heart of Fitzroy.

Hi There, Thank you for your lovely feedback. We appreciate it! Super thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay with us - we pride ourselves on providing guests with a comfortable & enjoyable stay. The apartments offer a spacious feel with an open plan living leading onto the balcony, and the bonus of off-street parking makes coming and going a breeze. Being centrally located in Fitzroy, it boasts walking distance to many wonderful cafes & restaurants, we are glad you got to experience this! The updated electronic key system can be delicate to begin with; however, it has proven to be an ease with providing multiple guest keys for larger bookings and the convenience of one less thing to grab when running out the door. We understand the apprehension of having your apartment key on your mobile in the scenario that your mobile goes flat, but with our 24-hour concierge service, we can provide a solution if these events were to occur. We look forward to accommodating you in the future. Kind regards, Sarah General Manager

While the appartments were great - user experience of receiving 3 pages of 8pt instructions to try and access the apartment was not. Right from the start - gaining access to the car stacker was problematic the assistance unhelpful - then downloading an app having to then call someone to obtain access for a second guest. The entire experience resembled an episode of black mirror combined with fawulty towers! I literally have a degree in computing science and found the experience frustrating- I can’t imagine anyone getting through a visit without having to call the after hours support service and if your mobile phone was to run out of battery - be warned there is no way you would be able to get into the house. I suggest the owners /managers do a full user experience walkthrough them selves and try to get their instructions Simplified, clearer and figure out how they will deal with someone arriving out of hours. Also note that the option to have twin beds in a room is not available- they only provide two queens in a two bed - that wasn’t clear either. In all honesty it just isn’t worth the hassle of staying here. It’s painful from arrival to check out

Hi There, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at District in Fitzroy. I'm glad to hear that you found our apartments comfortable throughout your stay. The deluxe apartment is very welcoming, highlighting the surrounding features of Fitzroy's central location with its city views. As we operate a virtual check-in system, our arrival instructions provide guests with the necessary information to guide them through their stay. Our arrival compendium is provided for guests to read over to familiarise themselves with the building and to refer back for details such as office hours, emergency contacts, and the commonly asked wifi details. The electronic key system introduced to Fitzroy was trialled and received great success at our sister location of South Yarra. Removing physical keys provides guests with the convenience of one less thing to grab when running out the door and the ease of receiving additional keys at the click of downloading an App without any staff on site. We understand the apprehension of having your apartment key on your mobile in the scenario that your mobile goes flat, but with our 24-hour concierge service, we can provide a solution if these events were to occur. I apologize for the miscommunication regarding your request for two single beds in the apartment. We do only offer queen beds across our apartments as advertised online. Thank you for your feedback regarding our keyless service. We appreciate the constructive criticism on how we can improve our operating procedures to be the most welcoming for all guests' comfort. Again, thank you for your feedback, and have a great day ahead. Regards, Sarah Grimison General Manager

Paid a large amount of money to arrive and for no one to answer the phone to compete the check in process. And when I say no one answers the phone, I mean for hours. When you’re supposed to be checking in mid afternoon. Still no call - long weekend ruined. If you want to spend your time leaving voice messages to a generic prerecorded voice mail - go ahead. My advice is to save yourself the heartache and go somewhere else.

It is a well equipped apartment. I had a one bedroom with completed kitchen including a washer and dryer. The only item that wasn't supplied was a utensil to turn over eggs in the pan. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It is in a very residential neighbourhood and therefore quiet. It is close to transportation, grocery stores, shopping, and restaruants. It is a short distance from the CBD. There is no one onsite to ask questions but they supply an information booklet. It would have been helpful to supply a map of the area also.It was a great apartment and I recommend staying here but be aware that you are on your own to figure things out.

For location, this can't be beat. The building is on a quiet side street a short walk to busy and desirable Fitzroy, near every type of restaurant you can imagine. If you are a first-time visitor to Melbourne, this would be a good place to be. The room itself is giant, bright, and pleasant, with an incredible, long balcony. Bedding and furnishings etc all very nice. My only problem was with the check-in process which was too complicated and ultimately very frustrating. It's all done ahead of time and involves having to send pictures of your ID via email to a remote office...I wish they'd just have someone on site to handle that as well as maintenance issues that may come up (as one did), and then this place would be perfect!

Great location in Fitzroy, close to bars and restaurants, easy access to trams. Tucked away just enough to avoid street noise. Clean, tidy modern apartments. Would definitely stay again next time we're in Fitzroy.
