We only stayed one night due to its location and had a really nice timewe had a room with a giant terrace outside which made it for us. The rooms and general areas seem a little tired with drab pink and peach colours but i guess it is an old building and in keeping with it's style it just gave me the impression of an expensive retirement home. We had drinks and dinner in the restaurant which was excellent the food really was amazing. The hotel was running on reduced staff but you wouldn't notice due to their efficiency. You do need a car to stay here as it is fairly isolated all be it 5 minutes in the shuttle bus from the airport which i can highly recommend.
The public areas are decorated prettily, are spacious and the staff are efficient, helpful and friendly, Our room was basic, with no view, despite booking directly with the hotel and most rooms unoccupied- I’m always surprised hotels don’t provide the few guests they have with attractive rooms....i have to assume all the rooms are monastic. Luckily our flight arrived early and we were able to get the hotel shuttle - it stops at midnight and a taxi would be at least €20 apparently. Would stay here again if we have a late landing or early take-off.
No complaints about the hotel itself. The airport collection and drop off is very useful, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are comfortable. I think the only criticism I would give is that the food is very expensive (despite being very nice) and due to the location of the hotel there are no cheaper food options available.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is run on reduced staff at the moment but you wouldn't know it as nothing was too much trouble. The staff work very hard to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. In particular Alberto, Corrado & Idhr where very helpful and friendly. The pool is cleaned daily as is the room. Despite being very close to the airport it is very peaceful.
Amazing classic old building and fancy looking hotel especially for the price. Very unusual to have a huge classic old hotel close to an airport. Staff good. The breakfast was OK. Rooms were very smart and modern- a little characterless for my liking given the old building, but looking fancy for the price. The bathroom was superb. The location is really close to the airport but its maddening that you cant walk because of appalling local planning . But I dont think any of the cheaper hotels are walkable. The shuttlebus stops at 12 which was a problem when our flight was delayed and came in too late. I hate rip off taxis and we did walk there following Google Map directions- mostly OK but it did involve 5 minutes walking alongside and then crossing a major road, which I think many people would find too scary.…
