Great hotel for the price, above it's declared stars rating although it's in a need of upgrading it's facilities, but great value for the price. Service was better than expected, great food, great outdoor salt water pool, too expensive drinks in hotel bar though.
We have already been in hotel Arkada couple of times and you can see the difference this year. The hotel is much cleaner, staff is friendly and aproachable, food is really good and better organised. Not much of renovation happend but as we heard it is in plan. This hotel is safe as well, you can see covid restrictions all around the property. Robi
Would definitely not recommend staying in this tired old hotel reminiscent of communist school camps in the 70’s. tiny rooms. No air conditioning throughout the hotel. Mattress thin and worn out. No mattress protector. Sheets don’t even fit the mattress - single bottom sheet on a double bed. The heat in the bedrooms was unbearable- we tried to cool room down by leaving door onto corridor open: as did all the other guests. Good location with great swimming out the front and a short walk into Stari Grad for dinner each evening. It was so bad it was actually funny
I think the worste place to stay in Croatia. Old and small room, old bed, no cleaning, no air conditional, toilette is full of calcium, moquette is dirty, no mini-fridge. I had breakfast and dinner included but after the first dinner where i had not eaten, i decided to go out for next meals. I heard my neighbor brushing his teeth. No privacy. Don’t spend money for this place
OK I knew what I was getting myself into when I read the reviews here and on other sites. This hotel is extremely old - like 44 years and nothing has been done since (this was confirmed by the guys fixing our bed that broke - he smiled and said that everything in the room including the curtains, wallpaper, carpets and beds is older than him -44 years to be exact). You cannot expect comfortable anything in this hotel, beds are old and worn out, linens are from god knows when, carpets horrible, furniture awful but then if you have a sea view room - the view is amazing. The room has no air conditioning, the hotel has no air conditioning at all so expect the worst in summer - we sure did. Breakfast is below average with limited choices and dinner is mediocre. That said, if you are planning on spending your time outside, this hotel has an incredible location and an awesome private beach. You can find both shade under large pine trees and you cane joy the sun as well - whatever works for you. The town center is a 10-minute stroll and is among trees - beautiful. The town Hvar is 10 km away and within 10-15 minutes drive you can find some of the best beaches on the island. All in all, the hotel is quite cheap and located ideally. Would I repeat - probably not …
