We went to the Shrubbery for lunch, the menu was not extensive but their was a good choice. We had pate, pork loin in plum sauce followed by lemon and lime cheesecake, all of the food was wonderfully presented and cooked well. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. We would recommend the Shrubbery for a meal. The only downside was...

Following good reports about the Shrubbery we chose it for our Annual Branch Dinner. From the planning stage the staff were so helpful and a varied menu was put forward that offered members a choice of 2 or 3 courses at a reasonable budget. In the end 60 of us enjoyed our meals and surroundings, the staff were all so...

Closest Best Western to Taunton...! Hotel is very comfortable and cosy but pics looks as if it's in the middle of nowhere however it is on the Main road into Illminster. My room(No.2) was a decent size with a large comfortable bed however opening the window to get fresh air was a bad idea as the road noise is considerable....

Thoroughly enjoyed a 3 course lunch break plus cuppa, on our way to see the murmurations in Ham Wall, Somerset. What delightful staff and being waited on by happy, smiley people. Food was delicious and served very quickly. All in all, a very good lunch time break. Thank ou

When we arrived this time however we could t believe how beautiful everything was. The Christmas decorations were exceptional and all the reception rooms had a lovely warm...

Although travelling alone, I was allocated a very comfortable, spacious double 'Garden' room in a detached block at the rear of the main building, adjacent to the extensive gardens. All the staff I encountered, mainly at reception, the bar and in the breakfast room were smart, cheerful, most helpful and very polite. The room was very clean tastefully decorated with...

I was using the hotel as a quick stopover, arriving late and departing early the following morning. My heart sank when I arrived and there was a party going on but in reality the noise didn't make it to the guest rooms. It was only 11pm when I arrived but I needed to press a button outside to get attention...
