We stopped here overnight in the middle of five days walking our final section of the C2C Path - although it is a couple of miles north, they pick you up from the car park at Clay Bank Top in response to a cal and then return you there next morning without charge. I wouldn't fancy walking the extra distance...

Been to Wainstones many times (even got married there) and never had a problem. Went for Sunday lunch and the food was fantastic, it can't be faulted. However the service left a lot to be desired. It started off well but after the mains were finished the waitress only cleared half the table and then left us to serve pudding...

Took my Mum out for lunch as a treat, wish I hadn't bothered. Younger staff were delightful , if not, overworked. I understand the restaurant/bar were busy with obvious Christmas work lunches but for a chef to serve what was clearly leftovers from other peoples plates and to disguise the fact he had done so with hideous amounts of salt...

3rd year I have been hear and best. Perhaps I should have had the roast beef and York pud that most people had. Instead I had chicken which was nice but didn't look as much on the plate as the beef. The meals were nicely presented and all good. The only criticism I personally had was that there were only...

I lived close to this village, as I grew through my teens I recall there was four pubs, each as an extension of somebody's private residence supplying beer and conversation to local farm workers. There was a local "bobby" called Phil Royne who would see you home when in difficulty. Many years passed, the village now caters for business in...

Spent the night here recently. Bathrooms recently upgraded with underfloor heating. Rooms will be done next - which ours was ready for but it was adequate. Breakfast well cooked. Staff friendly and helpful.
