This is a very friendly quaint hotel, full of old world character that a lot of places lack, the hotel is very clean and tidy given the age of the place. Had a meal in the restaurant, the food was of good quality and plentiful, I choose Haggis which was wonderful, the

The very opposite of 'boutique': a hotel next to a river in the middle of the countryside serving good honest tasty food and run by friendly staff (with a special mention to Heather) where the owner is on site and they do all they can to make it a comfortable stay. Some might

Thank you, i will pass your mention onto Heather. We are an 18th century coaching inn and the traditional decor and furnishings reflect that, i am so glad that you appreciate that fact. We will not be putting silver and grey wallpaper up anywhere in the foreseeable future. Best wishes and hope to see you again soon.

We will not be updating our decor- we are a traditional Georgian coaching inn dating from 1796 and everyone else seems to be pretty happy with us. As to the Sunday lunch - sorry you were not happy with the veg selection as we do tend to get lots of positives about the quality and standard. As to waiting for gravy and asking for horseradish, both of these are self service from the carvery itself, so we are very confused about that one.
