Spent the night in this quaint village hotel after being recommended by friends who'd stayed previously. Cannot fault it, very cheery pleasant welcome, spotlessly clean room, and very comfy bed. Spent the evening in the hotel, with a lovely meal and some drinks in the cozy bar. We both felt very welcomed, especially by Oscar & Lilly the residents dogs.... More

The owner of this hotel is looking to retire and to my mind she will be a great loss to the hotel trade. From the moment I arrived she went out her way to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable... More

We stayed here for two nights and will definitely be back again soon for another romantic weekend. The Cross Keys is lovely small hotel in the village of New Galloway, in a remarkably beautiful part of the country. Our welcome was warm, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and our meals were fantastic - just what we needed after... More

As a biker friendly hotel a group of 12 of us stayed here July 2013, Sue and her staff couldn't be more helpful, they made our stay an experience worth remembering. This group has stayed at venues all over the UK and this rates among the best. Good food, clean comfortable rooms, well kept bar. Ample off road secure parking.... More

Stayed for 2 nights towards the end of August. The hotel is in a quiet village and is somewhere homely to stay. If you want the latest vibe then don't stay but if you want somewhere clean, friendly, serving wholesome food then this is for you. Breakfast was really good and the welcome was excellent. Would stay again.

Visited this establishment's restaurant early one mid week evening recently whilst staying in a holiday let in New Galloway. I visited with my partner, and it has to be said that we have never before disagreed more about the food and ambience of a restaurant. Initially we both agreed that the welcome from mine hostess in the hotel's bar was... More

We stayed here at the height of the Summer season . It is in a small village in Dumfries and Galloway a fantastic scenic area with lots to do , the walking opportunities are many and varied. On our arrival mid afternoon we discovered the bar did not open until 6pm and were directed to two tearooms in the village... More

This is a very nice, simple and very friendly place to stay. In some ways it's 'old-fashioned' (which is not intended to be a criticism) because it doesn't try to be something its not. The owner & staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel-dogs are free to roam the property (including the dining areas) which is fine by me... More
