* Great views of estuary, from dining areas and from room * Very quiet. Our room was right by lift. Expected noise. Not so - nothing heard all night * Pub (not owned or run by hotel) in lovely setting right by hotel. Food quite good * Hotel cooked breakfast not the best we've ever had! * However, if you...

You get what you pay for, my friend and I went for a girly break having discovered 3 nights for 2 people at around £120. When we weighed it up, despite the somewhat shabby bedrooms and 'spa', it was still a great deal. The staff did seemed rather stressed and stretched- it didn't help that our dated door key reader...

Just been to breakfast. A party of Europeans hold prime spot for food and drink. For some reason their tables are adjacent to the food buffet tables and for the rest to access the buffet tables we have to walk through the bottleneck of people wanting to leisurely chat with each other. With the size of the restaurant it could...

Nice hotel, staff friendly, food in the pub was tasty but the pie had only 2 very small pieces of meat in it, very disappointed, mentioned this to the member of staff, he said sorry. The lounge area in the main lobby is very attractive but it's like a morgue, no music in the background, no people either, the bed...

We booked a room at the hotel for a weekend away. We were greeted by a very friendly and extremely helpful receptionist who informed us of local tourist attractions to occupy our time during our stay. When arriving at a room on the bottom floor of the south lodge is was very dark and tired looking. We would have happily...

Can't fault the hotel, restaurant or staff. We had a room in the South annex with a view over the river which was lovely. Our meal in the restaurant was surprisingly good so we ate in the bar on the second night of our stay, again very good. Breakfast was excellent comprising a limited but adequate buffet & hot food...

Modern hotel overlooking the estuary on the edge of Newton Abbot, so you really need a car. There is a main building with rooms, leisure club, bar and smart restaurant and several other buildings with rooms and a pub by the water, also run by the hotel. Check-in was brisk with directions to the annexe reeled off by rote and...

The hotel was heaving. A German tour company with 34 guests were there for the duration that we were. Being quite a large yet intimate complex we barely noticed them. On the morning we were leaving there was a second tour group staying. Despite the number of visitors we were always exceptionally well looked after. The bedroom was large and...

Took advantage of the Waitrose magazine offer for two nights B&B here with dinner on one night. The food was good so we inevitably didn't go very far the second night! Found the hotel very pleasant and particularly liked the conservatory at the back overlooking the estuary. No need to worry about the railway nearby as the double glazing is...

Hotel stuff is friendly. Rooms are clean and big. Nice food in the pub on the territory of the hotel. The location is far from the road. No road noise. River view is beautiful. There is a walk along the river. But could be muddy. Breakfast - very small choice of self service (yogurt, flakes, fruit salad) + cooked breakfast....
