Having summered in this area for over 30 years, we made an autumn visit for a family gathering. It was a good while since we'd tried this hostelry but as my brother and wife were staying at this, one of our old haunts, we decided to join them for an evening meal! We were delighted with the quality of the...

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting family. Our double room was comfortable but in need of a facelift. Despite being close to the main road noise was not a problem. Only the whistle of the steam train to Dartmouth! Lovely.Lots of hot water, tea and coffee hot towel-rail, tv. Breakfast finished at 9.30 which we think is too early...

Dear KerryEastAnglia, First can I thank you for a great four stars - and also say we do agree regarding some of the rooms needing a bit of a refurb - chairs are being recovered two at a time as I type! and we have a plan for the new year when occupancy quietens down for other works! Now to...

We made a late booking via the Internet at The Weary Ploughman as we were visiting Cornwall and Devon from France. We received a very friendly and efficient welcome by Kris and a very comfortable room which was bright, modern and spotlessly clean. Dinner was fabulous, excellent quality as was breakfast but Kris made our stay with his warm personality....

A quality establishment, with friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable, clean and well appointed, hot, rooms. The bar was comfortable, and the food was excellent. A large car park. On a busy road, although noise was not really an issue.

Dear Greg S, Great Five Stars review - thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to post it. From the perspective of noise we are lucky that the majority of our bed rooms are on the opposite side to the main road, which is indeed very busy, as it is the main road into Brixham/Dartmouth, with easy...

This is a great location. Room was good size and with decent lighting. The bathroom had been recently updated, including a great shower. The bar and dining room were comfortable with a good choice for dinner which was well prepared and presented. Breakfast deserves a special mention as it was superb - a good choice, freshly cooked. We had a pleasant stay at the Weary Ploughman Inn but did experience a couple of things which is why we didn't feel able to give more than 4 stars. The first reason being that our ceiling fan wasn't working on the first night and we didn't sleep well as the room was very hot even with the window open...

Basically nice room, large and well furnished. Bathroom everything worked but needed bit re-furb, Well situated to explore the area and quite quiet despite being on main road. Handy for the steam train to Kingswear. Good service in restaurant and OK food at reasonable prices.

Dear Victormeldrew16, Really appreciate the four star review - thank you!
