The friendly and warm welcome to Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge was only the beginning of a wonderful stay. The nature surrounding Dantica is spectacular and the bird watching begins right at your beautiful terrace. The food is excellent and prepared with much love and attention to detail. The rooms are nice, very clean and comfortable. the possibilities for trekking and...

The rooms are nice with big windows to see the beautiful scenery. From your window you see a spectacular amount of birds when looking up closely. But sadly it is very damp in the rooms and they have a lot of mould. The manager told us that we even got a wirlpool in the room. Arriving at the room it...

Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is situated on a slope. This means wonderful sights at the mountains surrounding. We stayed in a junior suite, which was a bit isolated from the main building (reception, restaurant,…). This meant a 5 minutes’ walk for having breakfast or dinner. The hotel is a bit outdated, rooms are well maintained, but do not meet with...

Very disappointing - cold, damp and impersonal. Not good accessibility for the less able traveller. Had booked for two nights but only stayed one night. Did not make use of bathroom/jacuzzi bath etc. as it was so cold. Be wary of slippery floors.

We stayed for just one night and you couldn't get a better location for the view. The place has an individual charm and some of the furnishing are a little mix and match. If you want 5 star luxury then this is not the place for you. That said the folks who manage it and look after clients are wonderfully...

Having previously stayed in the Monteverde Cloud Forest we were looking around for an alternative area to visit where we would stand a good chance of seeing a Resplendent Quetzal. This Dantica Lodge did not disappoint and is quite exceptional. The helpful staff , delicious food and totally amazing views looking down at the Cloud Forest were sensational. If we...

My partner and I stayed at Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge in 2014 for a weekend - it was a welcome break from the heat and humidity at lower altitudes. We loved our stay here so much. The rooms were so comfortable, with beautiful views of the surrounding forest, and the ethanol fireplace was amazing. The staff was always friendly and...

Spend a weekend there. From the main road to the hotel there is a descent of 300 meters in 4 kilometers, road is ok but drive safely. Once you get to the hotel at the front desk you will be received by Jorge Madriz, excellent person, he will help you in everything, he also is at the restaurant and will...

Funky hotel with nice restaurant. Good rooms, decent restaurant and great place to base yourself to experience San Gerardo de Dota. Arranged a great bird watching and quetzal seeing tour for us, interesting even for a 12 year old. Ethanol fires to keep you warm in the evenings.
