We did not actually stay at the cabins, but we used their services. Mauricio (owner) was our driver while we were in Arenal and he was great. Very knowledgeable, always on time, and reasonably priced.

This by far was one of the best stays of the trip. Fanny (owner) has made Tucanes warm and inviting. No TV or radio, and why would you need them? Your a stones throw from Lake and Arenal Volcano, Cerro Chata Volcano & Caldera Lake and La Fortuna. The room rates are a true value and there's so much wildlife...

Thank you to Fanny for a really nice stay at Los Tucanes. She was very helpful to us in planning our trip, both before we came and during our stay. We had a great breakfast every morning - typico Costa Rican breakfast with beans & rice, plantains, eggs and fresh fruit. (You can choose pancakes if prefer). We enjoyed being...

Nice place, great local food. You can walk to the reptile gardens across the street. The owners are very friendly and helpful if you need info on what is nearby. The bed was pretty comfy, and the room was clean

Five of us were traveling together and stayed with Fanny at Cabinas Los Tucanes. Probably not for everyone, but we loved it. Want to get away from touristy la Fortuna? El Castillo and Los Tucanes is a great place to do so. You travel about 30 minutes down a gravel road to get to El Castillo. Los Tucanes is a...

We stayed in the upstairs room and were treated to a spectacular view of the volcano in the morning. The place was quiet and clean and suited our purpose well. We enjoyed the breakfast prepared by the owner for a small extra fee. The road into El Castillo is quite rough, so be prepared for that, but we were very...

We went there on an advice from a stranger, finally that place was ok, for a nice price. A wide and clean family room, with a frige and some dishes, wi-fi, and a great view on the volcano. the owner do a lot to be nice, a good typical breakfast is offered. Maybe, they should add a microwave oven, and...

This is a bare-bones budget hotel. It's clean, affordable, and the proprietors are friendly. With that said, I don't think we'd stay there again. The bathroom was very small, no television, the internet didn't work, and our kitchenette had ants. If you need just a place to crash this place is okay. If your expectations are higher, then I'd try...

We chose this place to find nature and great views and escape the touristy buzz of la fortuna. The place is nice and clean, very quiet. They is a fridge and you can get breakfast for 5 additional dollars. The view is very nice even during the rainy season ( very cloudy) , and it all feels so relaxing. It...

Our apartment was very basic equipped, but extremely clean, hosts were very nice to us. Communication was easy, allthough they do not speak english very well. They help their guests. Their laundry service is very quick and fine and very useful in the weather at Arenal. We had luck to see the vulcano from our house, while is the rainy...
