During 2 days here my wife and I felt the tension of city living (Boston MA is home) was completely unwound. We stayed in a Superior Terrace Tent. We enjoyed the sounds and air of the forest at night whilst on a real bed with wardrobe etc. - best of both worlds. We did yoga as a family looking at...

Great place with organic farm, a restaurant, hot tub, sitting area to have a nice cup of hot tea from getting your fresh herb off the plant. Hiking trail and they made you feel like you were at home. The restaurant serves dinner and the menu changes, homemade food, beer and wine available. Breakfast was available as well and we...

Rooms were very clean and all staff spoke English very well. The only compliant I have is that the walls are VERY thin, so I was woken up multiple times by someone coughing through the night. Would have been nice to know this before hand. So, ask for a room that doesn't connect to other rooms. Overall though, good place...

Beautiful place. Just wow. As a nature lover it was an incredible stay. We slept in our hammocks under the stars. Waking up to the sound of birds singing. Friendly staff. Cheap breakfast to start the day with. Great hiking trails close by, a must!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Essence Arenal and warmly recommand to stay in this part of Arenal ! The property is organised in two distinct part, one more like a hostel with very confortable rooms and tents, another one in the farm, 5 minutes within the property. We stayed in both part of Essence and enjoyed both of them!...

"Bad roads lead to good people." If you've driven in Costa Rica, then you know the joy of bouncing down unpaved roads without a care for the suspension BECAUSE IT'S A RENTAL CAR. Then as the potholes become more treacherous and multiply to the point where you lose sight of any actual *road* between them, you think (confidently) OK, THIS...

I was there with my friends and we have slept in the tent. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they use to serve different thematic dinners. The tents are in the park, where you can walk to see the coffe' plants or relax in the small jacuzzi, on an amazing laguna view. I do suggest.

This isn't to say that the rest of the country wasn't beautiful and the other places we stayed weren't remarkable in their own rite, but Essence Arenal was the most vibrant and memorable part of our tour. The views, food, accommodations, people, and food (I mention it twice because it was so effin good) had us planning our next trip...

We were a group of 4 and stayed here for 3 nights. The views of the Volcano in the morning were AMAZING. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Hido, he's the man! We had dinner here one night and breakfast every morning. Best Pico de Gallo we had tasted throughout our entire trip, we even asked the chef...

Great place to get off the beaten path and hike around the Arenal Volcano and lake. Enjoyed the stay in a comfortable tent and the vegetarian meals were all very good. Great massage as well! We weathered Hurricane Otto (just lots of rain).
