We chose Stefanos looking for something laid back and traditionally Greek & got everything we were hoping for and a lot more. The drive from Heraklion took 90 minutes and I would not suggest visiting this hotel unless you intend to rent a car, as it is way up in the hills and public transport virtually non existent. The views... More

Stayed in a junior suite for 6 nights (B&B) at this small hotel that has probably one of the best views in southern Crete. The staff were very welcoming and gave some honest advice about local activities. The quality of the breakfast is good, and the terrace restaurant is a lovely place to start the day with great views. There... More

Stayed there for a week. The hotel has excellent views and pool, but average service. They advertise that they have wifi, but this is bad, to non existent. It only takes 5 min in a car down to the beach, and you can walk down to Plakias i 15 min. Plenty of good restaurants in Mirthios village. We did not... More

Located 5 minutes by car from the town. Rooms are large and spacious. The place itself is very clean. Good breakfast and excellent dinner. Staff, kind, polite, helpful, smiling and giving a feeling of home. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for a night in June 2016, having temporarily escaped my travelling companion ... Stefanos is exquisitely built overlooking all the grandeur of Plakias, its beaches and rocks in the distance, with a rim pool to die for. My sea-facing room was very spacious and functional; had a little kitchen, and a balcony - strong aircon, comfortable bathroom.... More

We went to Crete for a honeymoon and chose Stefanos Village for the views alone and truly weren't disappointed. We were given a room - which admittedly was quite standard - with the most incredible view over the Libyan sea and enjoyed this from our balcony. The staff were lovely, particularly the bartender who I'm sorry to say we forgot... More

The first thing that struck us was we were the only non-Germans staying here! Wanting to self-cater when possible on this holiday, we booked a one-bedroom apartment. If you look at the photos on Stefano's Village website, we had the room under the sign, with the archway on the terrace. Our room was a spacious one bedroom apartment. Furnishings are... More

We have spent one night during a motorcycle-tour in Crete. Very nice hotel with a phantastic view over the Lybian sea. Nice pool (we havent used - too late in the evening, too cold in the morning). Be careful - steep access to the parking area ( I have fallen with my motorcycle and have damaged one side-box). Good breakfast,... More

Decent rooms, clean, amazing views, friendly and accommodating service in all deve partments. Only negative points is non-existence of internet in the rooms, and perhaps the breakfast could be a bit improved. But I would gladly return as the positives outweigh the negatives!

See which rooms travellers prefer

“If the view is important best to choose a room overlooking Plakias and the sea. The terraces of some rooms are more overlooked than others. Our preference was to be on the second floor. A beautiful new two bedroomed suite has been built this year on the top floor but there are many steps to reach it and would not be suitable for the elderly or immobile.”

“All of the rooms have unrivalled views and are well equipped. The apartments are obviously slightly larger than the studios. Some of the more recently completed apartments have been finished in local stone and are particularly attractive.”
