The place is pretty awesome.. Overlooking a river and forested area.. It's pretty close to sepilok sanctuary and has a free shuttle... There are no stay rants close by, only near sepilok.. And the food is very very average, even the local food!! Bizarre, but we still really liked the place and the rooms are well done and comfy..

Loved our 2 nights here. Stayed in a family hut, which was spacious with clean white sheets and great air conditioning and fan. The view into the jungle was pleasant and meals were actually really delicious. Shuttle bus was free and took us to rdc and orangutans. Loved relaxing here away from the busy streets of Sandakan. Would highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay. This place is the epitome of retreat. We stayed two nights, in a ridge view room, and the view was gorgeous. The first day we took advantage of the free shuttle and went to Sepilok and the rainforest discovery centre. The second day, we decided to just relax. We lounged around and read, while enjoying...

We spent three nights here and loved it! Fantastic lodge with stunning views of the jungle, decent sized room with very comfortable bed and nice outdoor toilet and shower (attached to room under cover) We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The food although basic was good and well priced.

We (my girlfriend and I) spend 3 nights in this marvellous place in Sepilok! We arranged a taxi who brought us in 30 minutes from the airport to Paganakan. The place is really fantastic. Clean beds, a really nice shower with a view to the jungle and hot water! You should use your mosquito net because there are a lot...

If you're looking for a peaceful place in the middle of the jungle this is the pace to stay!Doucle rooms are really nice even if it's simple but hey you're in the middle of the nature. Really silent and clean. Of course don't be afraid of butterflies in your open air bathroom. Staff is young, friendly and helpful. Food is...

Stayed a night here as I heard positive feedback from other travellers i met. Had a room instead of dorm bed. The place is basic but nice to look at. The aircond dripped so reported it to be fixed. The owners used recycled material to build some sections and give it an artsy look. Internet is slow but not the...

We had such a lovely time at the Paganakan Dii. E-mail exchanges with Anton whilst booking had been helpful and friendly, which hinted at what a warm and laid-back atmosphere awaited us here. Our ridge hut accommodation was absolutely perfect for our family and the view (and the tropical "soundtrack") from our balcony so exotic and relaxing. The communal eating...

I enjoyed staying here, though there were pros and cons. One thing to keep in mind is that it is not a jungle resort! It is almost a jungle resort; I'm sure there is virgin forest relatively nearby, and there is certainly plenty of fauna. However the resort is set in the heart of acres of kelapa sawit (oil palm)...

Having read Trip Advisor reviews just before we arrived we were tempted to cancel our booking, however I'm so glad we didn't. We arrived late, 10pm, with two exhausted children, and received a very warm welcome. We stayed in a ridge hut which was clean, air conditioned (which did work despite what other reviews say), and had an overhead fan....
