Have been to Orient Bay many many times, but first time staying at Esmeralda. Absolutely perfect in every way. Very comfortable and "home-y", makes you feel like you are living in your own little cottage on the beach! Staff at hotel are phenomenal. Hotel restaurant...More
I've been vacationing in SXM since 2001 and have always wanted to stay at the Esmeralda. Finally got my wish in May. It was everything I imagined it to be. Grounds are beautifully maintained - gorgeous flowers and plants everywhere. We stayed in room 505...More

This is a unique resort on the French side of St.Martin. It is comprised of a group of individual buildings each housing 4 units with their own pool. I believe there are 18 buildings over a few acres. In the middle of the compound is...More

The resort is normally closed during the month of September, so there were no guests to evacuate. There are multiple travel website forums that have been sharing information about Irma damage. I've read that the resort is roughly 75-85% damaged. I have seen a few posted photos and videos which do show damage. The Coco Beach bar and restaurant was leveled to the cement foundation and everything is quite bare and exposed with having the palm trees gone. Their website has not been updated with any information.
