I stayed here for 2 nights, the accommodation is adequate but needs a bit of a makeover. The walls between rooms are thin and even general conversation between rooms is audible. The floors creak, I suspect the chipboard needs screwing down properly. Overall it was clean and of an acceptable standard but I would be looking for something better if...

We stopped off here for lunch today and were made so welcome from the moment we set foot in the place. I don't tend to write reviews on here ... time is precious but today was worth it. I hesitated in choosing between the pork roast or beef that had been slow cooking for 14 hours, so the chef who...

I stayed here for four nights this September , the room was very adequate and clean . The WiFi here works which makes a very nice change. The bathroom was nice with a full size bath , which is quite rare these days. The breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. The staff were very talkative and polite. What more can...

Firstly, its rare i write reviews, I am aware that each review can potentially help or deter custom, and with that said i generally sit on the fence unless something is really wrong. Lets start with the plus points though, because as with most things we could of just caught the people on a really off day. Upon making our...

Stayed here a number of times pre going to the Yamaha off road experience. Does what it says on the tin, bed is comfy, clean and soft sheets. Tip is to stay in the pub, not done this before and it's much less creaky than the annex. Room ok, bathroom definitely 3*, but hot water. Bar staff excellent as always,...

I was grateful for the room as it was last minute but I thought just shy of fifty quid for one person was a bit steep especially when I would be leaving too early to take advantage of the breakfast. I stayed in the area for 6 nights and stayed here for one of them. Having said that the room...

I have just spent two glorious days with my pal, fishing on Clywedog reservoir and we booked two evenings of B+B at The Mount Inn in Llanidloes..The bed was truly comfortable and the bathroom was very clean with what can only be described as `gallons of hot water`[One miniscule observation---the window blind over the bath could do with being replaced as...

Just got back from staying here after our Yamaha off roading experience day. This was our first trip to Wales for this adventure and despite some of the poor reviews of the accommodation, for four lads our two night stay was more than adequate..... Nice warm clean beds, nice hot showers, clean towels, TV, and tea and coffee making facilities......

The accommodation is in a block on two floors near the car park at the back of the pub. Firstly the rooms which we booked 3....All had issues in cleanliness...look at the pic I took at the side of the toilet..when was the last time that was cleaned?.. Noise from the rooms above sounded like a herd of baby elephants...light...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Mount is a family owned 12th century inn in the heart of Wales. We have nine en-suite rooms including family, quad, triple, double and twin rooms and one with disabled access and bathroom. All rooms include a home cooked breakfast. We also serve freshly made food at lunch and dinner time every day using quality local ingredients to make scrumptious dishes. Real ales, wines, ciders and lagers are available from the bar as well as a range of other drinks to suit all tastes. We also serve freshly ground Illy coffee and 28 different flavours of tea! You can also dine alfresco on our patio, the only place in town to enjoy dinner or a drink that gets all day sunshine in the spring and summer months. Built around 1280AD on the site of a Motte and Bailey castle, The Mount Inn stands in a prominent position at the head of the main road through Llanidloes facing the centuries old market hall. In the heart of the inn the snug area includes a tiled floor originating from the castle as well as 600 year old settles forming a secluded area to meet up with friends to eat and drink. There is also a family and games room with a pool table and large screen TV showing select sports including rugby, football and F1. Families can dine here and keep an eye on busy children who can help themselves to the toy box or board games provided. Around Llanidloes there are some excellent walking destinations with a firm favourite being to find the source of the Severn through the Hafren forest. There are golf courses and clay pigeon shooting ranges close by and for bikers there is the chance to partake in Geraint Jones Yamaha offroading experience. There are also some excellent cycling routes in and around the area to enjoy. Dog walkers are more than welcome at The Mount. If you're looking for a friendly, warm and comfortable place to stay then look no further than The Mount Inn. ... more   less
