Quant guesthouse conveniently located in Kastraki. The owner was so welcoming & attentive giving us bottles of water as our rooms were made ready. The rooms are small but well maintained. The rooms had balconies which afforded a wonderful view of the nearby rock formations. Rooms have air conditioning. The hotel is kept very clean. Breakfast is served both inside and outside (small courtyard at the front ). Good breakfast with bread 🍞 , jams 🍇 , coffee ☕️ (very tasty) , a hardboiled egg 🥚, & yoghurt. The owner also gave great recommendations on nearby tavernas & stores.

Everything about this little guesthouse is special and the owner could not have been more helpful. Lovely room with a view of the Meteora. Breakfast was good and there was opportunities to buy hot and cold drinks also throughout the day. Also a bonus of a small fridge in our room.

We visited the guesthouse Papastathi at the beginning of October with my parents and a family friend. We had 3 gorgeous rooms with balconies and breathtaking view to the Meteora monastries. All rooms were spotless clean and very quiet. The breakfast was also very rich and I loved the Greek yoghurt with the honey. The owner Mrs. Papastathi is the star! Very polite, helpful and careful with the guests. If we visit Meteora in the future, we are definitely going to stay in Kastraki and at this guesthouse again.

This hotel is the closest to the Meteora monasteries so its location is very convenient. The views of the mountains from the hotel were spectacular. The bedroom was extremely clean and had balconies from both sides from which the view of the mountains could be appreciated. The air conditioning in the bedroom did not work and we found the room a little cold. When we requested that the heater be turned on the owner accommodated our request. The bathroom was a little small but typical of most bathrooms in Greece. The monasteries could be accessed by bus which stopped outside the hotel or for those who like a good hike, it is possible to walk to them from the hotel. If you are not driving it is recommended that you take a taxi from the train station to the hotel for the sum of 5 euros. Breakfast consisted of an egg and toasty each, bread, juice, butter, jams, coffee & tea. The owner was most accommodating as he rang for a taxi for us & allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel after check out. The family who owns the guesthouse is clearly visibly proud of their establishment & offer a friendly service to their guests. They keep the guesthouse immaculately clean. We would like to highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely guesthouse and lovely people that are running it. Breakfast was lovely. We had a room at the front and our friends at the back. Both rooms were comfortable. We had views over two monastaries and the main village is in walking distance.

I can't believe the view we are having from our bed! This place is beautifully located. It is very close to the monasteries and also a lot of tavernas around to eat. The room is very clean. The owners are very friendly. I trully recommend this place as an accomodation for visiting Meteora's monasteries.

We spent two nights and one day at Papastathis. From the beginning to the last minute there we felt the kindness and warmness of its owners.
The place is perfectly clean and everything we asked we had it.
The room #23 has an amazing view of the giant rocks, the green and the birds is like heaven...

I strongly recommend the place!!

Thank you so much for having us!!!

Perfect location – the nearest to Meteora. Incredible breathtaking view to Meteora and the monasteries from the balcony of the room. You can drink your cup of coffee or glass of wine at the terrace in the shades of the impressive giant rocks just in front of you. Amazing guesthouse – cozy and clear. The owners are extremely nice, friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The bathroom is spacious. The first monastery St Stephan is seen from the guesthouse. It is at walking distance - 100 meters away from the guesthouse. There is a bus stop in front the place. Buses for the monasteries are at 10, 13 and 16h. Free parking. Free Wi Fi /very good/ in the room. Kastraki is much more beautiful, quiet and stylish than Kalambaka. The nearest tavern Meteora is on 3 min walking distance from the guesthouse with delicious cuisine /try the veal liver – it is terrific and huge /. Also check Gardenia tavern! When we come back again we will choose this guesthouse again for sure! We highly recommend it!

Let me start by saying what a fabulous location!!! Absolutely 10 out of 10 for location. It’s right at the doorsteps of Meteora’s monasteries. You have rock climbing, stunning walks and spectacular scenery all around. Owner is Greek so does not speak English but his wife is from Switzerland and can speak decent English which was great help for us since we got quiet late to Guesthouse as we drove from Macedonia. Both of them were really very helpful and great hosts. Loved home cooked breakfast as well. Infact there are plenty of amazing Greek restaurants around the monasteries and definitely worth trying if you love Greek food. Our room had spectacular view with super clean bathroom. They also have free parking opposite Hotel’s entrance which is a bonus.

Applause moment – Absolutely fantastic location and great service by Hotel owners. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you visiting Meteora.

Near By Attractions – Located at the footsteps of Monasteries
