Annual get together with friends and decided to give it ago as they had a special January offer, arrived at 3:30 but check in is from 3pm. On walking through to reception the place was really busy with a great atmosphere, obviously a very popular and busy place. We checked in a were taken to our deluxe room which was...

I recently stayed at milsoms for business, I tend to stay in towns with work so it was nice to be out in the countryside. It is set within lovely grounds and has rooms inside the main house and also within easy walk of the hotel. I had a room within easy walk - 1 mins at most which was...

Stayed in a standard deluxe double room, bed, breakfast and evening meal. The room was a generous size, very comfortable with a super king size bed, large bathroom with soft towels, dressing gowns, all the bath / shower accessories you need and plenty of hot water. Dinner was very good, tasty, not excessive in size, well presented and main courses...

Second year visited on Christmas Day. Seated in the smaller dining area, this was a lot more comfortable, with the temperature acceptable, and atmosphere appealing. The rooms were stunningly decorated as were the tables and fun hats an extra from last year - a pleasing gesture ! Staff were friendly and very attentive. The dinner was absolutely delicious, divine and...

We spent Christmas here whilst visiting family. The hotel was nicely decorated for the festive season and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were disappointing--vinegary and watery poached eggs; tasteless overly moist scrambled eggs and cold toast, so we were glad we had most of our meals elsewhere.Having said that we did enjoy a couple of snacks...

It's a nice hotel in woodland surroundings. Food and service is usually very good. Although that night I was disappointed with all three courses. The room whilst beautiful at first glance lacks maintenance. Shower fixtures covered with water marks and leaking at the seal, the tiles are all dark and covered in lime scale, toilet extractor fan bearings worn and...

First time we have gone away for Xmas! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Room was very comfortable and hotel and staff very accommodating of our 7 and 10 year old, who both had a fab time. We all enjoyed the setting, the friendly service and lovely food. A little Christmas music would have made the lounge area feel a little more festive...

Nice location, nice grounds, friendly staff. Very large, well equipped room, extremely comfortable bed. Just missing a few finishing touches to get five out of five. Shower opens onto room but no net curtains so can't have curtains open as people can see straight in, bath took so long to fill I gave up. Boxing Day isn't probably the best...

Stayed here overnight back in September after my cousins wedding. I cannot fault the staff, they were super efficient and friendly. Our room was lovely, albeit a little on the small side. The bed certainly wasn't though! It was huge and incredibly comfortable. There were nice extras like complimentary bits and bobs in the fridge, and the toiletries were nice....

My husband wanted to show me his old school and for us to have dinner in what had previously been the headmaster's study. The grounds and interior furnishings were wonderful, however, we paid over £200 for a pokey, overheated room over kitchen (opened window, but still boiling), creaking floorboards and no soundproofing whatsoever (obviously the building needs the expertise of...
